BIRREGURRA ART SHOW AND AIREYS INLET MARKET

Well, I haven’t used a “What’s On” entry to advertise something before, and I’m not sure who reads “What’s On” entries, but I thought I’d give it a try. I guess this will only be relevant to you if you live somewhere in the Melbourne, Geelong, or Western Districts regions…(and if you somehow come upon this entry!)

This coming weekend (10th & 11th October) Birregurra hosts its annual Weekend Festival. This is not just some little country town having a bit of a party, but a full-on, weekend-long, arts, crafts, produce and entertainment festival, with stall holders and entertainers coming from far and wide to show their wares!

In addition to the festival & its art & craft market and entertainment (music, cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, farming technology display, and the World Record pig-racing!), the weekend also hosts a wonderful Art Show. This is not just your little country town opportunity to for local budding artists to show their skills. No, indeed, this is a full-on Art Show!

The Art Show is very well sponsored and the generous prize money (as well as the prestige attached now to winning at this show) draws artists and photographers from all over Victoria. The standard of work is exceptional. This in turn draws visitors and buyers from all over Victoria (which again encourages high quality entrants…etc)

So, if you are living in the Melbourne, Geelong or Western Districts area, and find yourself longing for an exceptional art-experience, have a look in at the Birregurra Weekend Festival and Art Show.

I am having a market stall on the Saturday, with my photography and cards, and I have entered 4 pieces in the Art Show. If you make it along, look out for me & say hello. It would be nice to meet some Redbubblers in person.

ALSO, while I’m at it…I have a regular stall at the Airey’s Inlet monthly market. This market commences for the season on Sunday the 11th of October, and again, if you happen to be driving down the Surf Coast and going through Aireys Inlet on a market day (Oct 11, Nov 8, Dec13 & 27, Jan 10 & 24, Feb 14, Mar 7, April 4, May 9 & June 13!!!) do come an say hello. Looking foward to meeting some of you.

Cheers
Wayne
