Bubble Mail Blues! (locked)

Hey you gods of the bubble, how about this?? Can we please view the bubblemails we have sent, as well as the ones we have received?

Today I spent ages (well, at least half an hour) composing a wonderful missive, and had nearly finished it when it disappeared …. I thought maybe I hit the enter key for a new line but then I got a new screen so thought my bubblemail had gone to recipient … but turns out it just disappeared.

So I had to rewrite the whole thing, and couldn’t remember all the good stuff I had put in there ….. if we had a “sent” bubblemails function it would help dodderers like me …

anyone have an opinion on this??

Barb

Since your message wasn’t sent, there would have been no record of it even if you could see sent messages.
Best thing to do when composing any long document for the web (be it email, forum post, journal, etc…) is to do it offline in a text editor so you can save regularly.

Just to reitterate, I agree, there should be a sent messages folder… Theres been quite a few times where I’ve wanted to make sure I sent out my thank yous to everyone (because I do forget!) but I can’t check who I sent mail to….. Sure theres ways around it, but it just seems like a simple convenience… Thanks for all you guys do, this is still an awesome site!

I just sent quite a long and complicated bubblemail to someone and then thought I would send it to another two members but could not find the bubblemail to copy and paste it into a new mail. Could not believe there is no access to my sent mail! I’ve got to start all over again. Please could we have this feature?

Yep, I agree! I think it’s essential.

I think we should have a ‘preview’ feature before we send the BM – I’d like this for posting messages in the forums and groups as well :-)

A sent folder would be really appreciated. =)

Agree with all said, a “sent” mail folder is necessary as well as a “preview” button. Just look at Flickr… ;-)

I agree a sent folder is needed as well as a preview button (especially needed for group bmails save those multiple ones because the host forgot to add something or got the formating wrong)

There is a solution to the preview problem for group BubbleMails:

Have a thread, or a whole forum, in your group’s forums, that contains “archived copies” of the BMs you’ve sent. Only, don’t use it as an archive. Use it as the place where you compose them because forum posts have an edit facility. Given that, the process could be:

  • Compose BM as group forum post.
  • Post it.
  • Review it.
  • If it’s not right edit it. Go to “Post it”.
  • If it’s right edit once more, copy the content of the post, go to group BubbleMail facility and paste and send, happy in the knowledge that it’s a work of art.

In case it’s of any help to anyone:

Inspired by this thread (and all the other calls for a preview for BubbleMails) I’ve had a first go at creating a simple BubbleMail preview tool.

Note that it’s only good for people who use Firefox and who have Greasemonkey installed.

Yes, we need a ‘sent’ folder! Would also love a ‘reply’ button for bubblemail as the the only way to see what someone has written me when I want to respond is to copy and paste their message before I write a response.
