The Daily Wrap is changing with the goal being to make it more “newspaper like.”

We’re looking for writers who want to regularly or occasionally contribute to this publication and want you to choose what you write.

I’m looking for people with different skills and aspirations. People who want to contribute regularly and basically take the lead with a particular weekly or daily feature. Writers who just want to throw over the odd article or interview. And at some point once it’s up and running, a small team to be editors and managers and run the whole thing.

Below are some things we are looking to do on a weekly basis but we also want to hear any idea you have that you’d like to drive. Drop me an email to jobrien@redbubble.com

  1. Regular columnists to write about you interest or expertise. Anything from a column critiquing a work from the critique forum through to a redbubble gossip column.
  2. Mushy Feel Good Bubbler Stories
  3. Real World RedBubble Activities and Events- meet ups, exhibitions, classes etc
  4. “How To” post on using RedBubble features
  5. Regular blogging while traveling etc as a regular feature
  6. Vox Pops on topical issues (not just RedBubble issues)
  7. Featuring/Spotlighting of Groups and Works
  8. Interviews with members

So, what’s in it for you?
First, in turning the Daily Wrap into a “proper” online publication we are aiming to give you proper recognition as a published writer. Secondly, your articles and writing are hosted in your journal with a link from the Daily Wrap which brings your portfolio traffic and exposure and kudos from the community. It’s also a chance to develop and extend on your professional writing skills. Not that you really need it! The quality of writing on here is amazing.

I hope to hear from you soon

I believe if the Moderators of the Groups get their act together , this will work a treat.
Great idea but if it DOES take off big time where does that leave BubbleWrap?

We have plans for BubbleWRAP too :) Secret squirrels for now though ;)

Sounds good Jo. I’d be willing to chip in and contribute, but more in the ‘odd article or interview’ category for the moment (the real world intruding on my bubble time again!)

I think I can help ya with the selection of works and some article writing regarding the job of a writer (and the nightmares of an editor)

I’m wondering if this could actually mean I might be able to get a “consistent” job… (so far I’ve been doing freelance editing services on the academic field and a couple of graphic design work for other people) Nevermind. I love to be delusional. xP

mmm, I’m a bit busy at the moment so I’ll post something better later.

I’m down to help out. Probably in the capacity of an editor and/or an occasional column. Let me know if you need me :).

I’d be happy to offer comments/analysis/feedback from the ‘science’ perspective, if that would prove useful or interesting.

Well, Like I had said before I’d love to share my experiences with shooting in different conditions and the history I have discovered on locations I shoot and the avenues of research that I used to get the information. I do a lot of different things regarding the history of abandoned structures, particularly industrial locations. I talk to a lot of different people and try to get a picture of the place in the sense of its significance and impact on a community. I think it’s very interesting to know and understand more about a subject. My subject just happens to be old industry generally. Not sure if anyone else would be interested in reading about what I do. For an example have a look at my journal entry “My first loss of a location.”

it is a good thing to do.as i read through, what came to my mind was the fact that there would always be something to write about and as a result, there will be room for improvement and above all, mutual cordialness amongst members.

Well I edit and proof read for a living, so can lend a hand there if needed. I also love to write but have so much on right now I could not commit to something regular, but would be happy to suggest story ideas that I could follow up on. I already have one RB artist in mind who I would LOVE to profile. Keep me in mind.

I wish I had the time. The best I can contribute are artist profiles and write ups for other groups.

I imagine you’d be inundated with submissions at this stage. If so, is there a particular theme perhaps you’d like writer’s to contribute too maybe, to narrow down the submissions?

What of a fictional story by weekly installments? I have a couple of ideas on that subject.
I wrote once some things in spanish and catalan which I can translate into decent english and that can eventually be considered as funny and entertaining.
