Realism in the visual arts and literature is the depiction of subjects as they appear in everyday life, without embellishment or interpretation. Realists render everyday characters, situations, dilemmas, and objects, all in a “true-to-life” manner. Realists tend to discard theatrical drama, lofty subjects and classical forms of art in favor of commonplace themes.

The Realist Traditional Art Group is accepting works for submission that adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Artworks must clearly represent subject matter that is true to real life form and has been created without emotional/stylistic bias

2. Artworks must be finished and polished pieces. No work in progress pieces.

3. Colour and black and white works will be accepted as long as the subject/surrounds still maintain the realist vision.

4. Two uploads per day, if you upload more the moderators will accept two works and reject the others in a 24 hour period.

5. No photographs, this is a traditional media group, or realism created in Photoshop or computer aided program.

If you are unsure if your artwork belongs in this group, please bubblemail one of the hosts and they will help you. If your work is rejected please do no resubmit it.
