Pastel on Sanded Paper (Burgundy Colourfix) 35cm x 50cm A portrait of a ‘true blue’ Aussie! (He also happens to be my husband, Peter)! Pure Watercolour / Arches 140lb / W/N Paints / 14×10in I recently renamed this painting Innocence… I captured this photo of my grandson Isi, picking buttercups in the garden, He stood studying it for ages, he was in his own little world… Children have such Innocent minds..It made me stop and think about what might lie ahead of him in his life to come, and that also worried me too. How wonderful this age is to be so innocent of worry and all that is happening in the world around us.
Gwen I just love you so much you are such a beautiful girl . This watercolour was painted from life and with only watercolours. She was so great at just staying still. My darling daughter is now about to get married and here she was 11 years old – all the years fly by. Thank you my only Daughter for being such a wonderful person and so kind.
Watercolour Meet my wife Barbara. Love of my life.
Watercolor painting, 9×9 inches. This was a happy moment with my girls that I wanted to capture and preserve on paper. I hope they will grow up to be best friends. Painted on 140 lb Arches paper.
Graphite pencil on Arches w’colour paper. This is a large pencil portrait of my father, done quite a few years ago when my Dad was still alive. / I’ve won numerous awards with this work, but have no really good photos of it (before digital). Obviously, it’s part of my private collection. My father had lost his right hand in an accident when I was 3 years old, so always sat with his arm tucked under this way, a typical pose of Dad.

The love of my life, my heart’s desire, my greatest reward from the Gods for the hard lessons I’ve had to learn. / This young lady Claire O’Brien and I are to be wed on the 31st of October in the Australian version of Beltane (which is traditionally in May in the northern hemisphere), a Pagan time of celebration where the God and Godess are reunited finally. / A notion that couldn’t be more apt, as Claire and I met on Red Bubble in April this year, fell deeply in love, despite 10,000 miles between us. / She travelled to Australia alone and stayed with me for 5 weeks in June/July, and we knew we were born for each other, without question. / I asked her to marry me while she was here, and with immense courage we sacrificed our time with each other once again for distance, in order for her to apply for immigration, which would not have been possible without financial help from kind hearted family members, particularly Mary and Clive. She went back to England 12 weeks ago, and the visa was finally approved last week. She will arrive back in my arms in a week, a moment we have been hoping, dreaming, and begging for. / This is a true romantic story with a happy ending :) Completed 16th September, 2009 / Graphite mechanical pencils, 3H, HB, 2B, 8B on Reeves white sketch paper, A3
oil on canvas / 30×40 cm.
By the time we got to Little Milton, the weather had changed…whose idea was it any way to go down on this weekend of all weekends….after all it was Christmas…Pamela had extended the invitation weeks ago, and none of us were keen on the idea then…a remote place…a house no one had seen, or heard of…Wren House?...the name conjured up nothing but a sense of moulding age…on Friday someone, maybe Tom, who was always bored and looking for excitement, made what seemed now to be an idiotic suggestion, that we should all drive down and visit old Pam…the day started out fine and we were in great spirits…even the ancient Rover seemed in good form as we rolled out of the city…it was just after dawn so there was no traffic, but by mid afternoon the wind changed, and it became very noticeable that there was no heat in the car…after the mornings hilarity, silence grew till it was almost palpable…even Dahlia’s feeble attempts to continue telling jokes fell flat….the sky grew much darker, and flurries of snow mixed with rain battered the windshield….Mark’s driving, erratic even in good weather, became downright dangerous on the treacherous roads over the downs…suddenly the old faithful car seemed to make a last gasp for breath and then died….peering out at the unfamiliar landscape we knew the worst… we had now lost our way...Janis (fiction..A Weekend in the Country) Watercolour on Clayboard..part of the Winter Landscape Collection, which is now featured on my art pages...HERE / And HERE / Effet De Neige
