The first month’s challenge in the Pulp Noir Writing Challenge 2012 is as follows:

Genre: Crime

Location: A seaside pier

Object: A hair pin.

Remember all stories must be written in the style of the given genre – with as many pulp noir stylings included. The location is where the story should predominantly take place and the object should be simply be included.

Stories should be no longer than 750 words in length.

The closing date is 30 November (midnight GMT). All stories should be linked in the thread below.

The results will be announced by the end of December.

Points are as follows:

1st place: 25 Points

2nd Place: 10 points

3rd Place: 5 points

All other participants: 1 point each.

The points are carried forward each month, with the writer with most points by December 2012 being announced Pulp Noir Writer of the Year 2012!

Each monthly winner will receive an Amazon Gift Certificate of US$10.

The annual winner will receive an Amazon Gift Certificate of US$25 (in addition to other prizes we can sourve between now and then!)
