Butterfly Girl

You’re sweet and you’re soft, my butterfly girl,
And oh, how you have my heart in a whirl,
You flit and you float, all over the world
I love you, my butterfly girl.

Oh how I love the colour of you,
My coloured butterfly girl
And your lies, they sound, oh, so true!
My flutterby, butterfly girl.

I tried to hide my secret from you,
My flyaway butterfly girl
But when you look in my eyes you see straight through.
She sees me, my butterfly girl.

You’re sweet and you’re soft, my butterfly girl,
And oh! How you have my heart in a whirl!
You flit and you float all over the world,
How I love you, My butterfly girl.

And so I built a treehouse for two,
For me and my butterfly girl.
Oh, how I wanted to stay with you!
Beautiful, butterfly girl.

But you gave back my ringand you said goodbye,
I’ve cried for you, butterfly girl.
Now I feel as though I surely must die,
Good bye, my butterfly girl.

You’re sweet and you’re soft, my butterfly girl,
And oh! How you have my heart in a whirl!
You flit and you float all over the world,
I love you, sweet butterfly girl.

Then one summer day, you flew back in,
Where have you been, butterfly girl?
When she spoke I knew that she was lying to me,
But please stay, butterfly girl.

And you know that she broke my heart,
When she flew away, butterfly girl,
But she took back my ring, as she had my heart,
Unforgetable, butterfly girl.

You’re sweet and you’re soft, my butterfly girl,
And oh, how you have my heart in a whirl!
You flit and you float all over the world,
I love you, my butterfly girl.
