This is what he had to say about this work: “The Vespertine Tulips by AngelArtiste is absolutely beautiful to my eyes. I have admired Angela’s work for almost two years now. This was my 3 year old daughters first time playing in the rain. It was so amazing to watch her delight . I think we can all relate to tilting our faces up towards the the sky, trying to catch the rain as it falls on our cheeks. FOR PAY IT FORWARD: “Nominated by- Danae Leach” / “what she wrote“ “This is one of my most faves. I love children so much and their innocence, pure happiness and complete faith in all things good and magical. I remember when I used to be little and I loved being out in the summer rains”
I would like to thank Anthony Hedger who kindly nominated this image for inclusion in the Pay It Forward Group. Tony wrote - Neil has so many shots to choose from in his wonderful portfolio on Red Bubble and on his website all his work is beautiful but the Grey Squirrel wins it for me. The lighting, colour and depth of field is just spot on it is almost a 3D photograph. I would love to spend some time out on a shoot with Neil to get some ideas and tips to better my own photography. At this particular spot the morning-light show on that July morning a few days ago here in the forests near Hilversum/The Netherlands was at its best, when the sunbeams were chasing the morning ghosts. After a very long winter (so far) I needed something that sang Spring time is just around the corner! After a lot of fuss, and several hours, in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand. All of the apple blossoms and leaves were created from scratch. As a final touch I added some texture to the piece to give it that last little edge I was looking for. Jumping spiders are known for their curiosity. If approached by a human hand, instead of scuttling away to safety as most spiders do, the jumping spider will usually leap and turn to face the hand. Further approach may result in the spider jumping backwards while still eyeing the intruder. The tiny creature will even raise its forelimbs and “hold its ground”. Because of this contrast to other arachnids, the jumping spider is regarded as inquisitive as it is seemingly interested in whatever approaches it. Taken in the week the last surviving of the great war died; If I should die, think only this of me: / That there’s some corner of a foreign field / That is for ever England. There shall be / In that rich earth a richer dust concealed; / A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware, / Gave, once her flowers to love, her ways to roam, / A body of England’s, breathing English air, / Washed by the rivers, blessed by the suns of home. / And think, this heart, all evil shed away, / A pulse in the eternal mind, no less / Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given; / Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day; / And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness, / In hearts a peace, under an English heaven. Very kindly nominated by Donald Cameron for the pay it forward group. He had to say this about the image; / “ I nominate Corner of a foreign field – for Harry Patch by GlennC . An outstanding image in terms of composition and technique, taken to another level with the use of an 8 minute exposure and subtle tones in the black and white conversion. However what really makes this image unique is that it forms a tribute to the passing of the last World War I veteran Harry Patch, accompanied by fittingly poignant text. In my opinion probably the most powerful image on Redbubble.” canon 40d/Tokina 11-16/10stop nd/2&3 stop grad. 8 mins exposure F16
