Christine Betts is a Gold Coast based artist, mother and wife. Mostly self taught, Christine is an emerging artist with interests and subject matter ranging from Travel, Architecture and Tourism. Influenced by the work of Edward Hopper and Jeffrey Smart, she is fascinated by light and shadow.

In my Words

Into the blue and into the beautiful depths of Christine Betts’ portfolio. A wondeful realist painter, Christine takes this realism and gives it a twist. She finds the most beautiful patterns in the water and the most beautiful shapes and shadow to create a piece of realism which within itself is quite abstract. Her love of her environment comes through strongly in her portfolio and is so enticing one can imagine her standing on the beach or near the water with her easel. It is fantastic to see this wonderful artist recognised by winning the challenge I’ve got the Blues
