Watercolor , ink and pastel on Canton Paper / This work has 921 views to date 21/11/09 FEATURED IN THE AVANT-GUARDE GROUP Finally, I have finished my drawing of Nikki, and I have to say I am wrapt. I hope Nikki is also. / Now for those who don’t know my technique, first I design the composition on photoshop using my models, or muses who send me their faces. Then after that I sketch up the drawing onto a large scale A1 or larger piece of paper. Tape it to the easel and away I go. First it starts with graphite, then ink, then watercolour, then pastels, then conte and a touch of pastel here and there and VOILA! I might enter this in a competition which I have been invited to go into in Fitzroy, not sure if to enter this one or other Lady in Landscape. Please let me know what you think of this drawing in comparison to my digital mock up…some say why do a drawing at all when the digital is just as good. But I hope I have added some artistic freedom to the piece and its not exactly the same. If you would like to be a muse let me know. Thanks for looking .
