Taken earlier this year using moonlight as the only light source. This is a long exposure of 477 seconds, ISO 400, f/11 @ 12mm. It was a windy night hence I got some movement in the clouds and because of the exposure time there are also a few star trails in the sky. I might also add that the temprature was minus 4 degrees! Brrrrrrrr

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian and cyclist tilt bridge spanning the River Tyne in England between Gateshead on the south bank, and Newcastle upon Tyne on the north bank. / The bridge was lifted into place in one piece by the Asian Hercules II, one of the world’s largest floating cranes, on 20 November 2000. / Also on view ,The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, and the Sage Gateshead. / Which is a centre for musical education, performance, and conferences.

Tynemouth Priory was founded early in the 7th century, perhaps by Edwin of Northumbria. / The priory is where the early kings of Northumbria were buried. / In 651 Oswin, king of Deira was murdered by the soldiers of King Oswiu of Bernicia, / He was the first of the three kings buried at Tynemouth. / In 792 Osred who had been king of Northumbria from 789 to 790 and then deposed, and was murdered. / He also was buried at Tynemouth Priory. / Osred was the second of the three kings buried at Tynemouth. / In 1093 Malcolm III of Scotland who was King of Scots, / Invaded England and was killed at Alnwick by Robert de Mowbray. / Malcolm’s body was buried at Tynemouth Priory for a time, but it is believed that he was subsequently re-buried in Dunfermline, Scotland. / Malcolm III of Scotland was the third King to be buried at Tynemouth Priory.
He holds the waters of Tyne in his outstretched hand. Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
The bridge was built by Sir William Arrol & Co. in 1911 under a 1907 Act of Parliament. The opening ceremony on the 17 October 1911 was performed by Prince Arthur of Connaught. The Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge reflects the dynamic industrial heritage of the area. / Teesside has a long tradition of bridge building. Many of the world’s greatest bridges including the nearby Tees Newport Bridge, the Tyne Bridge and the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia were designed and constructed from Dorman Long steel. / The Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge has an overall length of 850 feet (260 m) (including cantilevers), leaving a span between the centres of the towers of 580 feet (180 m), the beam of the bridge being carried at a height of 160 feet (49 m) above the road. This combined with an overall height of 225 feet (69 m), makes this bridge the second largest example remaining in the world; the largest being the bridge across the River Usk, at Newport in South Wales. / In December 1993, the bridge was awarded the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ highest honour, The Heritage Plaque, for engineering excellence, in recognition of the Council’s efforts in keeping the bridge in good working order. Its historical importance was also recognised in 1985 by its listing as a Grade II Listed Building and its prominence as a local landmark was further enhanced in 1993 by the installation of flood lights that operate during the winter months.

Gateshead, England /
You would think after years of trekking around these Hills and Fells, / That I would grow board with this vast place. / The reality is Kielder Forrest and her Reservoir is not the type of place to grow weary of. / This I think is simply because of its sheer beauty, and the fact that the scenery changes very quickly, and often very dramatically. / The Forrest is the largest in Europe, and the Man made Reservoir is also in its own league for size. / Huge swathes of Forrest can be gone in a few days, this simply extends ones views and for every tree felled there are numerous one,s planted. / Kielder can be found in Northumberland, which is in Northern England.
The full spectacle of Bleabeck Force, a small stream in upper Teesdale which ends in this delightful display.
