This image was featured in Tone It Down Hi, This shot was taken at the famous Kona Dark Side trail which is one trail of 7 trails ( 7Stanes ) in Scotland. The Kona Darkside resides in Mabie forest which is very close to Dumfries, right on the Scottish/English border. The Kona Darkside Trail consisits of wooden obstacles and concrete slabs which when put together in a near 2KM length gives the rider a demanding day out. Its very technical and also very mentally draining. Though, great times are to be had and most definatly worth the Cycle ’ UP ’ to get to ride it :-) 6 Raw files blended in Photomatix at ⅓ ev intervals then B&W conversion and final tweeks such as Dodge and Burn were made in CS3. Thanks for looking Photoshotgun
Hi, This is an HDR of a Mountain Biker riding what is known as Northshore, and in piticular….a see-saw which is part of The Ewok Village trail in Glentress, Scotland. It was shot in RAW and later saved as a TIFF file at 3 seperate exsposures and blended together in Photomatix. Final tweeks were then given in CS3. Thanks for taking the time to look. Photoshotgun
This is the rougher version of UCI Champion if you like a bit of texture…
Mountain biking entails the sport of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, whether riding specially equipped mountain bikes or hybrid road bikes. Most mountain bikes share similar characteristics that underscore durability and performance in rough terrain: wide, knobby tires, large, round frame tubing, front fork or dual suspension (aka shock absorbers). The durability factor means a far heavier bicycle weight to rider ratio than their road touring cousins.
Mountain biking is roughly broken down into four categories: cross country, downhill, freeride, and trials/street riding. Each has differing levels of safety-consciousness with different types of mountain bikes and riding gear.
