Histology is the microscopic view of tissue. There is some very beautiful photography of tissues in the human body and that was the source for this. / It was a trial piece and is made of ceramic tile pieces glued onto a 33cm square tile.
Empty Midori bottle with red light as background.

This very well conserved floor belonged to an ancient rich roman villa (IV century a.C.) found under the sea near Trieste. The Castle of San Giusto – Trieste, Italy On this hill stood a prehistoric “castelliere” (fortified village), later converted into an important town by the Romans. / The medieval fortress was pulled down in 1381 and rebuilt the following century by Frederick II of Habsbourg. Designed on the remains of previous castles on the site, it took almost two centuries to build. / The stages of the development of the Castle’s defensive structures are marked by the central part built under Frederick III (1470-1), the round Venetian bastion (1508-9), the Hoyos-Lalio bastion and the Pomis, or “Bastione fiorito” dated 1630 and the two-floor building which presently houses the “Museo Civico del Castello”, i.e. the town museum. / From the castle walls people can enjoy one of the most magnificent views over the city and its gulf. Two buildings all connected together in Lincolns Haymarket. Liked the colors and shapes the nearest building (bottom) is in the shadow of a building directly behind me so it showed up darker however I think it still works let me know.

Last january I visit California, this mosaic wall catched my eye while walking through a small shopping center in Ventura Harbour. I’m a great fan of mosaics Probably thats why I integrate them a lot in my paintings:)
This wall is in several stages of undress, but most of it is naked. Taken at Old Tucson Studios with Panasonic Lumix DMC_FZ18 Featured in Bricks, Blocks, Tiles and Mosaic Mania 10/24/09
Richmond Bridge, Tasmania, Australia….
Richmond Bridge, Tasmania, Australia upside down….
Dubrovnik drenched by the morning sun. Shot Summer 2006, at 8 am, from the Old Town Walls, looking at the clocktower at the southern end of Stradun. One can see the extensive post-war repair work to the rooftops, and the difference between the origianl tiles, and the new regular ones. Dubrovnik has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1979. We are luckyenough to call this city our second home. Nikon D70s; Nikon 70-300mm lens; f/4.2; 1/2000sec; 75mm focal length.
Put your thinking caps on …. what have I shot here? It might look like the world’s biggest bar code, but it ain’t! Let’s have some theories from all you sleuths out there …. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F11, 1/500 sec, ISO 200, focal length 125mm.
These are wonderfully 3D tiles over a building entrance. / Canon EOS Xsi, 100mm

Pronounced ‘cah-weh cah-nem’, which translates from Latin – English to mean ‘beware of the dog’ (not cave of dogs as many people think!). This is my front porch, it took about 8 hours a day for about 3 weeks to complete, each tile cut to scale from a pompeiian mosaic.
Glass mosaic I did for my father of a wedge tailed eagle.
Glass mosaic of a koala from a photo Luis took at Cleland Wildlife Park, South Australia. So it was a team effort- Luis took the photo & I assembled the mosaic! It was done as a gift for Luis’ Mum back home in Colombia. Oct-09.
Glass mosaic of St. Raphael Archangel, no backing in frame to allow light to shine through & give stained glass window effect. I did this one on request for my boyfriend Luis, Oct-Nov ‘09.
