The Dell by John Dekker
Early dawn light at Clifton Springs near Geelong on the Bellarine Peninsula. The morning haze sitting over Geelong is eerily lit by the refracted rays of the sun, and accentuated by the ND Grad Filter used with this shot. Taken with a Canon 5D. A 1.3sec exposure at f/16 with 22mm focal length.

Feeling Blue by John Dekker
The same aspect as ‘The Dell’ (see prior posting) but taken 25 minutes earlier (about half an hour before sun up). Living on the other side of Port Phillip Bay, this was a 3:30am rise to get across to Clifton Springs for the shot. Unfortunately the skies were perfectly clear, and the sunrise ultimately rather bland, but such is the lot of the landscape photographer and we make do with whatever it is that nature might bestow upon us, kindly or otherwise. This is a 64 second exposure at 24mm, f/18, ISO 100, taken with a Canon 5D.
