Miksang, at its most basic level, is concerned with uncovering the truth of pure perception. We see something vivid and penetrating, and in that moment we can express our perception without making anything up—nothing added, nothing missing. Totally honest about what we see—straight shooting.
It’s not about searching or hunting for a specific subject. It’s experiencing the moment and having something catch your eye and HOLD it. It’s something that literally stops you and you find you’re unable to look away from it. It doesn’t need to be a specific ‘subject’ as a whole, that is instantly identifiable. It could be where lines, colours, shapes, textures, forms, contrasts & light in any alignment, have come to life. It’s the instantaneous moments that you experience physically and visually, that we’re after
- Photography only.
- Straight from the camera. No HDR or layers, Photomanipulated etc.
- There has to be a clear focuspoint in the picture. This can be abstract too, like a focus on lines or shapes.
