I had to go out and photograph a herd of cattle and was amazed by the beautiful patterns on some of them…... this prompted me to start playing around with this image.

The unthinkable happened to me yesterday. My flash drive that holds ALL my images suddenly stopped working. Eeek!! I paniced for about 3 hours before I finally gave up. There’s nothing that I could do in 3 hours, so there’s probably not anything that I can do after this. I do have advice for you though. 1. Back up ALL information from portable media such as flash drives, memory sticks, floppy disks, and portable hard drives onto discs. Discs have a much, much lower failure rate than these do. 2. Don’t keep your ONLY copy of important documents on a flash drive, in fact, always save it two or thee times in different places. 3. Don’t panic if this does happen… I can’t tell you how to fix it yet, because I’m still working on it, but panicing doesn’t help. Also, I am open for advice if any of you know how to fix this.
A colorful map of a riverscape. 11×14 Gouache and ripped paper on paper. This painting was inspired by the song King of the Past by the Rheostatics: _Find your way homeward. / The rivers are freezing. / And under the ice, / The borders are changing. I’m the King of the Past, but still I walk forward. / I step over hundreds of years yet to come, / While the eyes in the back of my head draw no borders, / Just rivers that channel the rain._ Note: If you are using Firefox 3.5 or above the images here may look darker than the preview images. Please try IE, Chrome, etc, for an accurate representation of the image.

In the spirit of living up to my promise, I am continuing on the quest to raise $10,000 for a charity through the sale of t-shirts, during the months off October, November, and December. Last year in 2008, as you may read on the Donating $10,000 To SurfAid journal entry… a stellar effort went down with a total of $155 being raised. You might like to also read the Thankyou From SurfAid International Can this year bring an even better result? I guess we’ll have to wait and see! The parameters are the same, with the goal being a total of 1,000 t-shirts to be sold during the months of October, November, and December. If that goal is reached, I will donate $10 per t-shirt sold, equalling a massive $10,000 to be donated to charity or charities of choice. If we fall short like last year, I will donate $5 per t-shirt sold… so as an example, if 999 t-shirts are sold, then the donation would equal $4,995. In either case, the challenge has been set once again! I am adding a twist to the challenge this year (2009), and am happy to do requests. So if you don’t like any off the designs in my collection, you may shoot me a message and I’ll whip up a design that you’d be proud to wear. To see what designs have been popular this year, I’d like to encourage you to stop by the What Tees Are People Buying In 2009 journal entry for ideas and inspiration. I haven’t decided what charity or humanitarian organization to support this time around, but I am considering the likes of Greenpeace and Kiva ... and on that note, let the bidding begin :)
yoyo recycle / good deeds are worth repeating. so lets see what we can do together to make this planet better. why recycle? / recycling helps reduce pollution, saves energy, conserves natural resources, reduces the need for landfill
When I showed this design to an eighteen year old friend he said; “It’s what I say and ask myself everyday!” / So, hopefully you’ll find a relevance in the design. / It took me a while to finish because of all the learning and experimentation in my new Photo-Shop program. Still a lot of learning to do!
A starry world map design
This group is dedicated to all those out there that loves maps. Maps tell a lot abour where a person is, where they are http://www.redbubble.com/group_applications/newgoing, or where they have been. How many maps have you seen that tell a different story. Does a work of yours show your position in some way. The variety that comes from such a similar starting point is amazing no two maps are the same and everyone will map themselves differently.
