HOLLYWOOD – On June 26, 1953, Marilyn Monroe received her star along Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. She wrote her name in the wet cement in front of Grauman’’s Chinese Theater and dotted the “i” in her first name with a rhinestone. The blonde bombshell had quickly become Hollywood’s darling, a legendary movie star, and would soon become one of the biggest silver screen icons of the 20th century. Silent Language of Flowers by Mui-Ling Teh
Self-portrait This was a concept I had in mind prior to the time I uploaded Lily. I folded a couple more lilies with 15×15mm pieces of papers, but as I tried out the photo, it didn’t look so good. So I bumped up the size folded more lilies, this time with 2×2cm papers, and I think it looks better. This idea was based on my Substitute for a silent mouth of Sorrow have a look at that piece to read what that one is about. But don’t get me wrong; I’m not gloomy or anything :-) just wanted to execute the idea. Taken with an Olypus FE-340 on Nov. 20, 2009

A Leg Up by Terry Hinkle
I wanted to do a piece with hands and feet / and came up with this idea. / I am getting better with hands / but still have a little problem with feet. / I took a lot of time doing the Design Marker and a blended colored pencil underdrawing. After scanning it into Photoshop I worked on the contrast and color and printed it out onto Illustration paper to add the chalk pastels. I have always loved looking at a piece and wondering what is going on outside of the frame. / I will make more.
