No the water has not been enhanced, it is like this in the middle of summer.
On a recent trip to Lake Bonney windfarm for work, thought I should take my camera along. Never know when you might be in the right place at the right time.
On the way via the coastal road as part of the Coorong in South Australia, lots of little flooded areas reveal reflections and old flooded fence lines. Nikon D300, 80-200m 2.8 ED zoom.
My kids splashing around in the back yard for the first time this “summer”. I was having a go at trying to capture some movement with the water. I like this shot because it’s got the water drops, as well as the kids having a ball. Limestone Coast. South Australia. Nikon D60 55-200 mm lens Featured in LIMESTONE COAST REGION PHOTOGRAPHY – November 2009
A small star shaped plant growing up out of the dark depths in a small piece of native scrub located in the middle of a pine forest at Mt Burr South Australia. Nice to see that we can maintain these natural strips of environment in the middle of commercial forests. Canon 400D, 17-85 lens with 2 stage extension tubes.
A male Spotted Pardolote regaining my trust to enter its underground nest… A quiet, secretive bird, with jewel-like spots over its head and back. Taken in local roadside scrub, South Eastern South Australia with a Canon EOS 400D with full 500mm zoom at about 5 meters from subject, – they’re tiny! Pardalotus punctatus.
Revisiting old folders, a previous visit to the shipwreck of the Pisces Star at Carpenters Rocks – South Australia. Low tide with a stunning cloud filled sky made for some great opportunities to get shots of this wreck exposed on the beach. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with CIR Polariser.
Taken in Mount Gambier SA at a hillclimb event / Shot with a Nikon D80 Photo is as taken on the camers
Had the pleasure this week to be asked to take the Graduation photos for Tayla, herself a talented young photographer. She looked stunning and the colours worked well against the bleakness of the old building that her parents lease for their heavy equipment. Canon 400D – 17 -85 lens. / Focal length of 24. / 1/200th at F10.
Lightning storm. Mount Gambier South Australia 19/11/09 / Shot with a Nikon D80
One of the biggest Lightning Storms to hit the region in quite a few years. My aim one day is for a bolt like this one, but with a better reflection in the water of Mount Gambier’s Blue Lake. Nikon D700 24-70 f2.8 / f 7@ 30mm 20secs /
Watching an amazing lightning show tonight as it passed through between Beachport and Millicent in the Limestone Coast. If you view this large you will see small red dots at the bottom of the strike – they are the tower lights on the Wind-farm nearby at Canunda. Canon 400D 17-85 lens. Two second exposure.
This is an old church on Bagdad Road, Mount Benson – near Robe. I have always loved the architecture of this church, I love the freestone and inside it is still dirt floors – so overflowing with character and charm. Panasonic DMC-FZ28 / ISO 100, f/7.1, exposure 1/100
Lake Albert – Meningie SA Great place to enjoy a light lunch on the way to Adelaide….
I love not just standing and gazing at an amazing sky like this, but looking beyond it, staring out deep into the horizon, past what the eye can see. This is such a place of peace, of beauty, and where one is free to dream – there are no limits, no boundaries, no restrictions. Just an endless horizon, filled with endless possibilites. Taken at 3rd Ramp, Robe, South Australia / Canon 450D, 18-55 lens / ISO 100, f/16, exposure 1/100, focal 29mm
Cleaning up some older folders from previous ladybird shoots at Mount Burr South Australia. These ladybirds mass in their thousands here at certain times of the year. Taking flowers out to them results in them climbing up and down petals and leaves in hunt for food. Canon 400D – Sigma 70 -300 macro.
Sat waiting for some sunshine after a hailstorm this morning for the light to get on the roof of this quaint old cottage, then after a half hour, “snap, gotcha!” Taken at Kalangadoo, South Australia with a Canon 400d, and 70-300 kit lens.
