Other groups have incredibly strict definitions of what fits into their group. It is to the point where I have dropped out of those groups trying to guess what fits into their definition, but I think your request and expectations are reasonable. I think a little clean up here would be good.

Tiffatron – Thanks for your info about rejecting images today. I have resubmitted mine that was rejected – I was somewhat confounded and confused. I was wondering how I could have misunderstood the guidlelines so badly.

((hangs head in shame))….geez i seem to be doing that alot lately! ha!

so after over 2 years on the bubble, my multiple group hosting has finally tripped me up and i have wrongly rejected a couple of works from the japanfluene group, as i was mistakingly thinking of another group’s guidelines at the time. YIKES HUH! i was confused to say the least thinking ‘these arent within the guidelines at all, what’s going on?’

oh well, it happens – i take full responsibility and humbly apologise to all those affected. ;)

i would also like to assure you all that this little ‘boo boo’ shall we call it, will not happen again as i am now aware of just how easily this can happen in the world of hosting!

for the record it was only 3 or 4 works – but that’s 3 or 4 too many.. so if you think your work has been rejected in error today, then kindly re-submit and it will be accepted pronto!

thanks guys – i’m now off to slap myself a few times in the hope it will alleviate my slightly scattered brain! haha

Today is a rather sad day….
because despite 95% of our members supporting and upholding the japanfluence way, there are still too many people submitting TOTALLY IRRELEVANT art to this group.

Therefore, today is the day we switch the group back to ‘moderated’. we have sent many warnings and asked repeatedly for people to respect the theme. and while most are well behaved, the offenders are persistant, even in one case rejoining the group after they were deleted and re-submitting all their non-japan-related art. nice. that was the last straw i’m afraid… IT’S CLEAN UP TIME!

We apologise to all those lovely members who have played by the rules all the way along. we will ensure your work is promptly accepted into the group and those offending members will not only have their art removed, but also their membership.

Harsh but necessary, i think the afore mentioned 95% of you would agree it’s time to overhaul the mess these offenders have left…cluttering our lovely japanfluenced work with their irrelevant submissions (although i must admit some of them are quite amazing as art….but that’s beside the point, they are NOT in any way to do with our theme!!).

On a happy note – we are continuing to see some WONDERFUL japanfluenced art coming through from most of you so keep it up guys!!

I too have noticed the flooding of irrelevant images. I will be sure to look through my own submissions as well and make sure they fit under the theme.

it has come to our attention that a few members (most are very well behaved, thankyou guys we love you!) are abusing the fact the group auto-accepts artworks.

japanfluence is being flooded by images that have absolutely nothing to do with japan and appear to be in no way influenced by japan.

these such images will be instantly removed (we check it regularly) and the offending member will be removed from the group. seems harsh, but warnings don’t seem to work, we’ve tried.

if you feel your work is influenced by japan – you must state in the description why you feel this way…. if there is not explanation and we can’t find an obvious link to japan, it will be removed.

so thankyou again to all our committed, lovely members – you are helping to keep this group true to it’s theme! for those few that aren’t playing nice – shape up or ship out!
