Featured Art in Inverted World A wedding vow.. ...................................... These pictures are from my series of Display windows downtown .. of a wedding party novelty shop :).. things in there are quite unique, and some are very comical. Hope you like my warped sense of humor with the inversion of the colors.. sometimes marriage is good, sometimes not so good . / Source of info The History of Wedding Vows A little wedding trivia for you… In the time of the Roman Empire (17 B.C.- A.D. 476) the lower classes had “free” marriages. The bride’s father would deliver her to the groom, and the two agreed that they were wed, and would keep the vow of marriage by mutual consent. Wealthy Romans, though, would sign documents listing property rights to publicly declare that their union was legalized and not a common law marriage. This was the beginning of the official recording of marriages as we do today. The oldest traditional wedding vows can be traced back to the middle ages to the ‘Book of Common Prayer,’ published in 1549. Upon agreement to marry, the Church of England usually offered couples a choice. They could both promise each other to ‘love and cherish’ or alternatively, the groom promises to ‘love, cherish and worship’ while the bride to ‘love, cherish and obey.’ The original wedding vows, as printed in The Booke of Common Prayer, are: Groom: I,_, take thee,, to be my wedded Wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy ordinance. Bride: I,, take thee,__, to be my wedded Husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherish, and to obey, till death us do part, according to God’s holy ordinance. Other well-known phrases from the Book of Common Prayer are: “Speak now or forever hold your peace” from the marriage liturgy. / “Till death do us part”, also from the marriage liturgy. Hundreds of years later, on September 12, 1922, (no doubt due to protest) the Episcopal Church voted to removed the word “obey” from the bride’s section of wedding vows. Today, “love, honor and cherish” have largely replaced the historical vow for the wife to honor and obey.

I TOOK THIS SHOT OF SNOW COVERED MOUNTAINS, WAY BACK IN THE 1982-83 TIME PERIOD. I DON’T REMEMBER WHICH YEAR, BECAUSE THAT WAS THE TIME I WAS DRIVING SEMI TRUCK ACROSS COUNTRY AND I TOOK A LOT OF PHOTOS FROM ALL ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. I CAN USUALLY REMEMBER THE WHERE, IT’S THE WHEN THAT I GET CONFUSED ON. THESE MOUNTAINS WERE IN COLORADO. ANYWAY, I TOOK THE SHOT OF THE MOUNTAINS INTO THE DIGITAL DARKROOOM AND I INVERTED THE COLOR SPECTRUM. THEN I WENT INTO MY MOON SHOTS AND CUT ONE IMAGE OF A MOON AND THEN PASTED IT INTO THE SHOT OF THE MOUNTAINS. THAT GAVE ME THE “MOON OVER THE MOUNTAINS”, THAT ACTUALLY NEVER EXISTED. THIS WAY, IT CAN BE USED IN THE ALIEN LANDSCAPE GROUP.
X-Ray Vision…..”looks normal” / / Photo taken at the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth, TX. Not sure what they are but found them interesting. I used an invert filter to create this piece. FEATURED in the following groups: Inverted World

A Journey of souls…..
WHEN I FIRST OPENED THE FILE OF THIS BRIDGE, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE. BUT, THEN WHEN I SAW THE TWO WAY TRAFFIC, I REALIZED IT WASN’T. THE ORIGINAL SHOT WAS TAKEN BACK IN 1982 WHEN I WAS DRIVING SEMI TRUCK ACROSS COUNTRY. IF MEMORY SERVES ME, THIS BRIDGE WAS SOMEWHERE IN TENNESSEE,,,, I THINK. ANYWAY, I WASN’T REALLY HAPPY WITH JUST THAT IMAGE BY ITSELF, SO I DECIDED TO TRY AND MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING. SO, I MANAGED TO GET A GOOD ROPE AROUND THE BRIDGE IMAGE AND CUT AND PASTE IT INTO ANOTHER SHOT. THE BACKGROUND SKY IMAGE WAS A SHOT THAT I DID TOTALLY FROM NOTHING. I STARTED WITH AN IMAGE THAT I MANAGED TO MAKE LOOK LIKE A SKY FILLED WITH STARS AND GALLEXIES AND AFTER MAGIC ROPING THE BRIDGE IMAGE AND PASTING IT OVER THE UNIVERSE, MANAGED TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A POSSIBLE PHOTO. BUT, “WOULDN’T IT BE NICE TO SEE THIS” IN THE NIGHT SKY. OUR OWN MILKY WAY GALLAXY IS SO HARD TO SEE, BECAUSE OF LIGHT POLLUTION, THAT I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO HAVE A NIGHT SKY LOOK LIKE, OR AT LEAST SOMETHING LIKE THIS. BUT, THEN AGAIN, IF WE HAD A NIGHT SKY THAT LOOKED LIKE THIS ONE, THERE WOULD PROBABLY BE MORE WRECKS ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT, THAN WHAT WE HAVE NOW. I KNOW THAT IF OUR NIGHT SKY DID LOOK LIKE THIS, I WOULD NEVER GO INSIDE OR TO BED. I WOULD ALWAYS BE OUTSIDE SCANNING THE SKY AT NIGHT, JUST BECAUSE IT WOULD BE SO MESMORIZING.
