ONE DAY… I was strolling through Red Bubble Community when I came upon a shot that blew me away.. a strawberry splash..

I fell in love with her work and when I found out she was an artist in India.. I was very pleased. Anaa has incredible vision and she is very playful. To come close to a drop of lemon juice or a view of the Goddess Durga Anaa gives you a sense of lifes pleasures and glorious simplicities. She is full of spunk and has alot of heART! I know my partners here, Suresh Babu Subramanianji and Terileeji love her work too. Enjoy yourself and get to know our Anaa!!

1.Tell us a little about yourself and where you live in India.

- A Big ‘Hello’ from Anjali …. who’s better known as Anaa ! I’m 24 & belong to Kolkata, India. I’m a Mass-Communication graduate, a student of Interior Designing & a digital photography enthusiast.
Since childhood I’ve liked being creative in my school projects, in my art school … & now I try it with my camera …lol!
As a person I can say … am easy-going, observative, keen to learn new things & a positive thinker!
Ohh ….& am very friendly too … lol ! :P

2. How long have you been taking Photos and what equipment do you use?

- Its been only a couple of years that I’ve taken photography seriously. Earlier I’ve enjoyed clicking things & people, moods & moments …whatever seemed interesting to me, with my handy mobile camera.
Presently my equipment is pretty simple like myself …. Canon PowerShot A-550 …7.1MP, 4x optical zoom, Digic III processor, 9 point AiAF, PictBridge technology etc …. its a ‘point-n-shoot’ one !
I’m quite happy with it so far ….infact we share a ‘good tuning’ …lol !
But to improve & learn photography better I’m keen to have a DSLR someday soon!

3. Who influenced you in your world of art/photography?

- My dad is very fond of photography. As a child I used to see him taking lots of pics, whenever we were out on some family tours or on occations …may be I’ve devaloped inclinations for photography subconsciously since then! :)
Photography is a very expressive medium …. & it covers a versatile field, providing scope for creativity too!
My parents are very encouraging !
After joining RB, I feel blessed to have got so much inspiration, love & support from all you wonderful & talented people !! :)

4. How best do you describe India, heart and soul?

- I love my motherland India !
She is the land rich in cultures, traditions, values ….She has got so much diversities , yet so close-knitted by the spirit of unity …. in a few words, all I can say is ‘I’m a proud Indian … yeh dil hai hindustani’ ! :)

5.. Where would you travel given time, money opportunity in India and why?
- I just love to travel & India is such a beautiful country!
I had been to Jammu , Kashmir …. Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai …Madhya Pradesh, where my grandparents stay …Gangtok etc…
My most favourite place so far is Goa ….gorgeous beaches, stunning blue ocean, breezy palm trees, sunny sky ….lovely environment & happy people there ! :)

Great interview!!! Congrats ana!! Your interview and mine are quite similar :) lol I also got selected by linaji for Incredible India group … I also wrote about Goa … being creative in childhood … and Unity in Diversity in India…. and the configuration of camera … though mine is 8 MP :) ... I also had one Durga image in the interview … lol

Anyways … great interview … and I love your creative works … keep it up!!!

Congratulations Anaa, wonderful artworks!... I’m from Howrah! You could see the house I was born in from across the Hoogly where you’re from! lol. Though I’ve spent more of my time in Bhowanipore, near The Victoria Memorial because my cousins and all my friends were there at Beni Nanadan St, Shambhunath Pandit St…I still love Cal!
