I’ve become so fond of using textures in my work, that I often spend more time out & about shooting textures than anything else….. / So I have decided to release a selection of my textures free for use as you wish. / There’s not a lot available at the moment, but I’ll be adding more daily….. it’s a time thing! / There’s no restrictions on their use although I do have some rules about claiming them as your own & re-distribution etc…. A Thank-you would be nice if you use them, though not mandatory….. You’ll find them in my Texture blog enjoy :D
I’ve only recently decided that Facebook was something should possibly explore. / Having spent the past week working on a profile page, it has dawned on me that a Facebook page (for artists) is the better way to go…... I’m such a newbie! / So I’m here to let you know where you can find me if you want to swing by…... come on over & be a fan!!!.... / I’d love it if you let me know where you are on FB & I’ll add you….. it’s all about networking after all :D cheers!!

This acrylic painting on canvas is inspired by the Tasmanian Aboriginal woman Mathinna as related in the novel “Wanting”, 2008, by Australian Tasmanian author Richard Flanagan. / Mathinna was born on Flinders Island (off the coast of north eastern Tasmania) to Wongerneep and Towgerer, a chief of the Lowreenne tribe. She was born sometime between July 1834 and June 1835 and named Mary. Mathinna’s parents were part of a social experiment which saw many Aboriginal tribes in Tasmania relocated to Flinders Island. / The name Mathinna was given to her at government house after Governor and lady Franklin ‘adopted’ her as one of their many educational and charitable projects. / reference: http://arts.abc.net.au/metro/bev/life2.htm / Acrylic on canvas painting by Tasmanian artist Deborah Conroy.
Will you sail with me darling / If I anchor in the middle of the sea? / Your happiness like my wind / Blowing though the gales of eternity Contemplating all the skies stars / A string of light in your eyes I see / Loves mystery supplicant and free / Unfolding like origami swans before me As we sail side by side like lovers / Only now just friends in waking hours / Our dreams take us beneath waters covers / We glide on, we ride on life is telling us more / For eternity I will have you sure Sailing Linaji to her friend’s heat she smiles. / 2009

”...Pearl set forth, at a great pace, and, as Hester smiled to perceive, did actually catch the sunshine, and stood laughing in the midst of it, all brightened by its splendor, and scintillating with the vivacity excited by rapid motion. The light lingered about the lonely child, as if glad of such a playmate, until her mother had drawn almost nigh enough to step into the magic circle too” (Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter, p. 208).
