An oil painting of a blue dog howling at the moon under a blue desert night sky.
A palette knife and sepia version of my Newcastle watercolour painting. Taxi’s (horse carriages) waiting for fares. The castle (1080) and Black Gate tower (1247), in Newcastle upon Tyne. St Nicholas Street. Looking south, to the mouth of the High Level bridge. Painted from a photo, taken in 1901. HB pencil and Watercolour, on 10” x7” Bockingford, tinted eggshell, 140lb.
Watercolour on coldpressed watercolour paper of a cottage in the Australian bush, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What a lovely place to retire to. Come hideaway amongst the trees / feel the sun on your face and the gentle breeze / smell the sweet flowers and see the birds soar / you will be wanting to stay eager for more!

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
Marguerite Porete was a French mystic and the author of The Mirror of Simple Souls, a work of Christian Spirituality dealing with the workings of Divine Love. She was burnt at the stake for heresy in Paris in 1310 after a lengthy trial, after refusing to remove her book from circulation or recant her views. The book is cited as one the primary texts of the medieval Heresy of the Free Spirit. / After Marguerite’s death The Mirror of Simple Souls continued to be distributed across Europe, where it was translated into several languages, including English. In spite of its reputation as a heretical work it remained popular in Medieval times and in some ecclesiastical centres was embraced as an almost canonical piece of theology. Between Porete’s death and the identification of her as the work’s author in 1946 the Mirror was circulated as an anonymous work, Porete’s name having been struck from it. / I was talking to friends over the weekend and suddenly realised that I too would have been burnt for heresy because I claim to communicate with the dead. The question that interested me the most is how many people would stand up in my defence? Not many I feel. What makes me even happier is that no one will have to be put to the test and that includes myself. I dedicate this Painting to Marguerite Porete and quote William Wordsworth…..... I feel how in their presence doth abide / Light which to God is both the way and guide; / And, kindling at their luster, if I burn. / My noble fire emits the joyful ray / That through the realms of glory shines for aye….... In memory of Marguerite Porete who died today – 699 years ago, 1st June 1310. June 1st 2009
Watercolour ( Winsor &Newton) on 140 lb. Arches Cold Press / This was in response to a photo/ painting challenge posted on Flickr by Lorus Maver (Bilbov). I moved in closer than the original photo which also showed trees in the background. It is always fun to see the many and varied interpretations of the same photo, and it is now possible to identify the artist simply because we are now familiar with their individual style. /
Featured in Fine Arts 27 June 2009 / Featured in Freedom in Words & ART June 2009 early one morning i waked from a dream with this image in my mind. i was in the sea and the colours were vibrant and brilliant – the world was so surreal i got out of my bed and immediately began painting this work. after about 5 hours i set my paintbrushes down. the painting stayed untouched for several years. one day i felt compelled to paint the image of the horse glowing in bright light. there is a native american flavour. while i am only 1/4 native american, i am strongly and inherently influenced by my native heritage “the eternal sea” is my self-portrait / started in 2000 finished in 2004 multi-media / Acrylics / Acrylic Laquers / Acrylic Enamels / Glitter Gels / Acrylic Metallics 20×16 inches / premium canvas panel

The last living survivor of the Titanic, Millvina Dean, has died at the age of 97 in Southampton. As a two-month-old baby, Millvina was the youngest passenger on board the giant liner when it sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912 – with the loss of more than 1,500 lives. / The Titanic holds a very special place in my heart as My Spirit Guide, Ida Straus died on it as did so many others. / I dedicate this painting to Millvina Dean and quote the words of William Wordsworth in honour of her memory. Harp! Thy murmurs may not cease - / A Spirit, with his angelic wings, / In soft and breeze – like visitings, / Has touched thee – and a Spirit’s hand: / A voice is with us – a command / To chant, in strains of heavenly glory. / A tale of tears, a mortal story! For you Millvina Dean….... June 1st 2009 – London
