I Love Birds

Hi Members,

I think this would be a good time for everyone to introduce themselves…we all have one thing in common…
we LOVE BIRDS…

I started out with Marty, my Amazon…my husband found him in a store that did air conditioning on cars…
the garage was freezing and my husband bought him from the owner for $200…my understanding is
he was teased … he still does not like anyone’s hands near him and I have him now about 22 years..
but he is very sweet…loves to play with my hair….About 18 years ago…I bought my first baby cockatiels..
they were the first birds I ever handfed..two darling birds…Clydie died at about 6 years old … nothing I
did would raise her calcium level which was extremely low….Bonnie passed on at about 10…I now
have approximately 100 birds…some are rescued…some friends no longer wanted..because they didn’t
understand the responsibility of birds…and some I purchased from Parrots of the World…Mark Marrone
owns the store and is well known since he had a cable tv show for many years…he has taught me alot
about birds…he is a unique man…he’s always there to answer questions and really cares about what he
sells…

I read everything I can about the care of birds and still do not know enough since there is so much to learn…..
I have every size bird from finches to a Blue and Gold Macaw…they give me alot of inspiration for poetry..
when I am with them…I find alot of peace…
