No one comes to a discussion of the horse empty handed: we arrive with the burden of six thousand years of accumulated knowledge, gratitude, myth and hearsay. Our two species are permanently and inextricably linked. Over the centuries we have trained horses to perform successfully in many spheres of the human experience, including agriculture, sport and war. They have lived and died beside us and it is hard to imagine what our lives would be like if their domestication had never occurred.” Andrew McLean.
Dressage is a French word, which roughly translates as “training”. Dressage is a basic training of all riding horses. Showjumpers, Show Hacks and Pleasure horses will all benefit from dressage training – dressage training creates a horse that is more comfortable, safe and pleasurable to ride. This groups goal is to depict safe and humane training of the horse in all equestrian disciplines. It is hoped submissions will include pure Dressage, Showjumping, Riening, Eventing, Racing, Hunting, Trail Riding, Endurance and Showing to name a few.
