Healing Through Art (HTA) - Group Closed as of 12/1/10

Group Rules:

If your work is not accepted, please do not take it personally. We would be happy to consider a piece again if you read and follow the guidelines and re-submit it.

You will need to provide a description that includes a statement or paragraph about how the creating of the work helped you and/or the finished work’s impact on your life. Please not only a poem or a song. If there is no description according to the guidelines, it will not be accepted.

We will accept works by hand, photos and digital composite works only, as there are other groups where writing can be submitted.

If you have a piece that includes nudity, we ask that you be able to show how this was therapeutic and healing for you to create it. When I think about nudity in terms of a therapeutic art piece, it usually has something to do with some form of childhood sexual or physical abuse. Not always, but often.

So just keep these things in mind when you are making a decision about whether or not to submit this kind of a work and use the Safe Filter if needed.

If you still are unsure, feel free to b-mail myself or Song and request our feedback if you desire it before submitting. We would love to help simplify the process of acceptance and rejection of your incredible pieces and to keep communication open between you the artist and we the group hosts.

We value you as a person, your work, your heart and do not want anything to jeopardize Healing Through Art being a safe, nurturing environment for artists to share their hearts and healing stories through art. Thank you for trying to understand our vision and purpose for this group.
