I have been getting some really good works in lately and I’m excited to see such creativity!

I have a few helpful ideas for those of you who would like to add work but seem to be getting rejected;

These are examples of works I would accept

1. Where the MAIN focal point is the hand (example; a picture of fingers)
2. Where the MAIN subject matter is the hand(s) (example; a picture of two hands holding)
3. Photos where hands take up most of the photo, even if hands aren’t the generalized topic but are doing something productive (example: very close view of hands playing piano)

These are examples of works I would not accept;

1. Hands are in the photo, but are distant, and not part of the photo whatsoever (example, people in a crowd dancing with their hands in the air)
2. The hands are being used but aren’t necessarily the subject matter (example: a far away picture of someone painting)
3. Works that are obscene or hands doing things in an obscene way, let’s keep it clean.

I understand the idea is hard and confusing, but a great way to see if the photo is for this group is to look at the featured works.

Topic: Group News / Cleanup and Frustration

I went through a lot of my photos in this group and was a bit frustrated. I’m going to relay the rules so everyone understands, it is a bit tricky I know…

Just because you have “hands” in your photo, does not mean it is for this group. The MAIN focus of the picture should be the hand(s)

So if I add a picture that is of a woman dancing, this is not a good picture for the group (even though her hands are moving to the music)

If i add a picture of a pair of old worn out hands (and that’s it) it’s perfect.

I’ve seen a lot of stray from the subject matter here, so I’m currently doing some cleanup. If your artwork is removed it does not mean it was bad, or that I didn’t like it, it just means I felt it wasn’t for this group.

I really did end up deleting some really good pieces of artwork and I encourage some of you fantastic artists to find the group that’s best for your piece of art.

On the contrary, I am also seeing some awesome works of art in our group, there are new features up today! :)

But because we have strayed much from the subject matter, I’m going to have to approve all of your work, and number of works has now been limited to 5.

Have just finished cleaning up ten of my pages, and I am going to say that I’m sorry, especially because I had to remove some seriously awesome pieces of work.

I am, however, a little frustrated.

So I’m going to begin approving your works.

Topic: Group News / Focal Point

Alright guys here’s the deal…

Just because you have a hand in your photo, does not make it the main focus of the photo. A “focal point” is the place the eyes are drawn to, in our case it would be human hands.

I’ve seen a lot of great works on here, but I am going to start a little bit of cleanup. If one of your photos gets removed it is because the human hands are NOT the main focus of the photo, and/or there were no hands whatsoever.

I really hope I don’t have to start approving everyone’s photos, let’s keep it clean, and keep it hands only.

Let’s have fun too! Okay? This is a creative group, I’m seeing some awesome stuff :)
