On September 30, 1955, Dean was doing a reckless 85 miles an hour in his Silver Porche Spyder on Highway 41 at Chalome, near Paso Robles. he was speeding, en route to a sports car race at Salinas, when he smashed into another vechile. He was mangled, DOA at Paso Robles Hospital. / Warners was grieved for financial reasons-Rebel and Giant had not been released and films starring recently deceased actors generally had bad track records. Then, without any studio hype, a legend grew. It was only several months after his death that the cult began to grow to vast proportions. The release of Rebel Without a Cause set off the greatest wave of posthumous worship in modern history. The rebel had died but the youth quake was born. Ink/Marker/Pencil 210×290

This is a group for art inspired by the so called Grindhouses, the theaters that mainly showed exploitation films and its sub genres, such as blaxploitation, sexploitation, zombie films, biker films, shockumentaries, splatter, spaghetti westerns, giallos, kung fu/ninja films, nazisploitation etc.
This group tends to be RB’s 42nd Street, a kind of a modern times’ Sleazoid Express, in a nostalgic attempt to bring back the Grindhouse heyday.
