This is an oil painting on canvas 81×66x4cms. Port Fairy is a beautiful coastal town in Victoria, Australia, where many people have a holiday house or go to stay. Holiday times, in particular summer holidays see many people enjoying this lovely place. The lighthouse is on an island there and is a favourite walking spot.

Bring it On 4 / The final Cut When you take a large number of images it can be difficult choosing your favourites. / I almost overlooked this image, but I was looking for a square image to mount for a local exhibition. / I realised when cropped as a square, this was probably my new favourite of the series / Newhaven Harbour Lighthouse / Storm 14/11/09 Panasonic fz50
Isn’t it a little like people in the middle age saw the world? Maybe! / But this lime stone rock is the result from erosion power of the tides during centurys. This female Black Bear came down to feed along the rocky coastline with her two cubs. We had been fishing all morning in the Tlupana Inlet (Nootka Sound) on the west coast of Vancouver Island and were returning to our base for lunch in the pouring rain with a couple of Chinook Salmon on board that we had caught earlier, when we spotted her. As we got closer and she heard us approaching, she sent her cubs back up the mountain side and watched us warily whilst getting to grips with a starfish she had caught. / We moved in a little closer so that I could get a few photographs but as we did so she lost interest in the starfish as she could smell the salmon we had on board and decided that these would probably make a more satisfying meal! At one point it looked as though she was actually going to make a leap towards the boat so we backed off to a safer distance whilst I continued to photograph. / For a change I’ve given this one a little artistic touch-up in Photoshop CS3. Enjoying a peaceful moment at Cattle Point, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Cattle Point earned its name as a drop off point for Uplands Farm, which occupied the surrounding land at the time. Cattle would be barged to the bay in front of what is now the parking lot to swim and wade the short distance to shore.

As most of you know by now, we live in the quiet (at present) and delightful Indian ocean side township of Yanchep, some 55 kms north of Perth in Western Australia. The beaches are less than 5 minutes away in the car and I took this photo yesterday afternoon, (Friday 20 Nov) / The nearest red roof building you can see is a beachside cafe/kiosk (their fish and chips are great by the way!) / On the left – and out of shot – a large housing development is taking place and the eventual plans show that we can expect to see promenades, cafes, small hotels etc. It wont be our sleepy little Yanchep for much longer. / Camera Sony DSC R1. / 24-120 Carl Zeiss Vario Zonnar lens with cp filter / f11 at 1/250th second / hand held
