Topic: General discussion / Fractalius Plug-in Debate I have to add my two cents worth, even though this is an old topic. I’m glad this group is sticking to art made with fractal editing programs. The “Fractalius” group is devoted to photos that have been edited with the Fractalius filter. As far as I know, they don’t feature regular fractal art, but they provide a gallery for those who do photomanipulations with that plugin. |

Topic: General discussion / How do I... Hi, I’m new to the group. I’m only an Apophysis user, but one thing I’ve found that really helps is to render your fractals big. It will do any rendering size you can put in. If you go at about around 2x the final size that you want for the piece, you can size it down in a photo-manipulation program. (Usually it’s the only thing I have to do to the fractal as postwork.) The sizing-down causes an anti-aliasing to happen, and might take the edge off some of your work without simply wrecking them. Apophysis is is freeware as well (found on sourceforge.net, just search for Apophysis), so you should have no problems affording it. The only thing I can say is, if your comp isn’t beefy enough, you might find yourself having to render a fractal through the night. If you render them as .png with transparency, you can shave quite a bit of time off the render, depending on which plugins or variations were used. I hope that helps. |
