Beach debris is Flotsam & Jetsam: sea-drift that our oceans, rivers & lakes throw up on to their shores.
This group is for anyone who loves walking along the beach, a river or stream and capturing the debris, junk & driftwood that the waters deposit at the waters edge.
Flotsam & Jetsam is defined as ‘goods lost by shipwreck and found floating on the sea’ (Chambers Dictionary). These items normally find there way to our shores or river banks. These can be old oil cans, rope, plastics, old iron etc.
Some of these objects make great images, and this is what we are inviting into our group.
We will accept driftwood & ‘washed ashore’ or onshore boat wrecks (as long as the shore is visible) images into this group also.
No plain views of sunsets and boats (wrecks only allowed), or empty beaches. No shells, pebbles seaweed or life natural to the waters
We encourage you to check all the group rules in greater depth before you join to lessen the possibility of image rejection. Thank you.
All featured work, challenge winners and spotlight on artists receive banners. This is part of our group rules, so if you are not happy to receive banners you may wish to find a group that does not issue them.
