Topic: Events / How about this for a challenge? Okay, I have an idea, how about a challenge where we would write three stories;
Each round would last one week. The winner of each round would pick the theme for the next round. The winner of the last round gets to think up a new challenge. We would need a judge or panel of judges. Anne has to agree |

Topic: Events / Twisted Tales Extra Star Twister Twisted Tales Extra Star Twister One of the things we want to encourage in Twisted Tales is a healthy level of participation from the group members. We know that sometimes people can be put off entering competitions because the same people always seem to win, or because you don’t have the time to network enough to get your work noticed. We at Twisted Tales would like to create as meritocratic, encouraging, and supportive environment as possible for all budding writers; so this is a special Star Twister which is only open to those who have never won before. The hosts will vote on the winning entries; the overall winner will go into the November Grand Final, along with all of the weekly winners, and have the chance to win the $10 Amazon Voucher. The prompt is The Gift and you can take from that whatever you wish! Just to give you an extra chance to get your creative juices flowing this Special Star Twister will run from now until Midnight (UK time) on the 16th of November. Remember: Over the last few weeks there has been some confusion over closing times for section of the competition. Closing time is midnight in the UK whether we are on BST or GMT; if you want to know how this relates to your local time click here |

Topic: Events / Melbourne Writers meet 17 February 2008 You don’t have to be a photographer who writes poetry, you could be a florist who writes Flash Fiction, or an undertaker who writes limericks, a cop who writes cinquain, an elephant who writes epigrams or a nit nurse who writes novels. Or someone who likes to hear great works read out or someone who doesn’t write at all but just wants to hang! We’re not artistically snobby – or snobby in any way so anyone who can come is welcome to come along. ;o) |

Topic: Events / Melbourne Writers 6 January 2008 Hi there scribes and scribblers. The next meeting of RedBubble Melbourne Writers will be at noon on Sunday 6 January. It’s an informal affair in Northcote’s oldest building – a former church turned pub/bar/restaurant/venue!!!! A feature of the next one will be everyone is invited to bring along two written pieces of modest length. They will be put in the centre of the table into a lucky dip, with pieces drawn out at random by different participants and read out to the group. We had a mini reading at the last meet and I tell you what – you get a real kick out of hearing your words oralised. I urge everyone who is local or who might be able to make the pilgrimage, to put Sunday 6 January in their diaries!!!! |
