When I was a kid, the practice of collecting and swapping cards was called “Swappies”. Years later I worked for a corporation which occasionally produced educational materials – one of my bright ideas was to come up with a series of swap cards with fun pictures and educational info on the back. Explaining cogeneration in 100 words was possibly one of my … um … greatest achievements. So here’s the challenge for you Flash Fictionaires. Come up with a 150 story you might expect to find on the back of one of those cards out of the Weeties box. Or perhaps a story you wouldn’t expect to find on a Swappy!!!
Stories must be 150 words or less, written on the back of a “Swappy”, scanned and uploaded to Flash Fiction (or if you don’t have a scanner, just make it look a bit like a swappy). You can then submit it in this challenge. Providing the ‘reverse’ or pictorial side of the card is entirely optional. Please follow Flash Fiction guidelines to construct your story.
Kudos, and a feature on the Flash Fiction overview page.
