Photograph I took of my sister a few years back When we both lived in London. Its great to get it out of the book and put on the bubble. I was so passionate about photography, especially human portraiture. Now I am a printmaker and painter and I think the two compliment each other well. I look forward to learning digital printmaking in the future. I am thinking about doing this photograph as a painting. I think it could work? Any thoughts? 340 views on the 21/11/09
My Work is Featured in Pop Art / (Thanks Everyone) ...You like potato and I like potahto / You like tomato and I like tomahto / Potato, potahto, Tomato, tomahto. / Let’s call the whole thing off… Have you ever wanted to throw tomatoes at a work of art? It’s wonderful! Thank you to Dogbreath for the use of his very special Grandpa’s Watch to paint for this piece. There is a part of us that ages-our body, primarily-and a part that doesn’t. The part that doesn’t age has something to do with the mind, but it isn’t the mind as we usually think of it; our mental faculties of memory and concentration begin to slowly subside with age just as the body does. But our primary or innate awareness, our feeling of being alive, of just being here, doesn’t age. It is as bright as always, like a candle flame that puts out steady light, whether the candle is new, half gone, or almost out.The trick is to pay attention to the flame, and not the candle. The flame of a candle half gone may burn just as it did at the beginning, but by now it has burned longer, and it knows something about burning. Innate awareness never ages, though the body does, and maturity and wisdom is the compensation for what time eases from our grasp. From Lewis Richmond’s The Candle Flame Burns Just As Brightly

Decided to make something for Halloween.
The Patchwork Faeries are very shy, but I finally coaxed one of them into the digital world. Allow me to introduce Myrna. I found her arranging the stars one night and she agreed to pose for me during her midnight break. She’s snacking on fruit, a common food for a Patchwork Faerie. I created her portrait in Photoshop Elements 7 using public domain images.

Had an amazing morning shooting with bensound and whatsthatbeeping this morning, thanks guys! Check out their work, people, both awesome artists, what a thrill for me! Three exposures blended with photomatix, amongst other things…. The pose and location are all down to Ben, I just did the clicky thing. Thanks Ben :) I also used Grunge texture 02 from amptone stock and Grunge Texture 05 from buzillo stock

Beautiful rustic scene that i saw while having a pleasant walk at Mt. Avala near Belgrade. / The original scene and colors were very appealing but i have decided to go for a textured look since the sky was bright white, with almost complete absence of colors. / Taken with FujiFilm FinePix F30 Zoom compact camera.
Thought I would try something different. This image is made up of about 65 layers with all the metal work, cogs, screws etc placed individually. (c) Sarah Moore 2009 View large!!

This group is for people who love photomanipulation and/or collage with a strange vintage feel. Postings to this group must be
Curious: Unusual or surprising in a way that is unsettling or hard to understand. Odd, peculiar, weird, quirky, strange. Out of the ordinary.
Vintage: Denoting something of high quality, especially something from the past. We prefer a faux Victorian look, but the important thing is that it doesn’t look overly modern.
Fiction: Imaginary events or people. A fabrication; a story whose purpose is to deceive.
Collages and constructs of the Joseph Cornell type are welcome. We love sepia, we love color.
Please respect the work of others, leave constructive feedback, and take part in the discussions. There’s so much we can learn from each other! Tutorials are available for basic texturing techniques to help you achieve that vintage look as well as tips on how to use selection tools and control color.
Please be familiar with the group rules and remember: you can only post three strange vintage fictions per day.
