Fashionart & Stylized Portraiture

Group Rules:

This is a group for art and photography depicting people in a stylized and aesthetic way. The images tell a story, convey a mood or make a fashion statement.

We are looking for high quality, attractive and expressive work. All types of artwork are accepted – photography, photomanipulation, digital art, illustrations, traditional media…

YES TO THESE:
portraiture
fashion
tasteful nudity

NO TO THESE:
images not depicting people
babies and very young children
amateurish photomanipulations
overly-edited photographs
pornography
meaningless pretty headshots
snapshots
ANIMALS & NON FASHION RELATED OBJECTS!

OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER:
- Images do not necessarily have to show a person’s face, but they should clearly be about a person/people.
-
There is currently no limit on the number of artworks each artist may upload, but please aim not to submit more than 2 per day. This benefits you, the artist, as it means that your work will be spread out in the gallery and so is more likely to be featured on any given week!
— If your artwork is rejected with or without a reason please don’t take it personally. We have to moderate several pages of submissions every day and want to keep the group’s content streamlined, focussed and top quality. Some possible reasons for your work not being accepted are: too abstract (not portraity enough); the appeal of the subject is sexual rather than stylish and/or emotive; the photograph is candid/journalistic rather than stylized; the portrait does not have enough of a message; the work is badly edited; it is a bad photograph. Feel free to bmail rebeccatun with any queries.

N.B. I often have to reject a lot of submissions of pictures of young children. Whether a portrait is considered ‘too young’ is quite subjective of course, but it depends crucially on how stylish and emotive the image is. Usually toddlers don’t make for very stylish subject matter. So if you’ve had work rejected and were confused about why, this could be the reason.

The hosts reserve the right to remove any members they feel do not consistently submit work suited to the group and are using the group simply as a means to showcase all their work. We also reserve the right to remove members if they do not adhere to the group rules
