This little frog was sitting on the back of my car one night. He was about 4-5cm long and brown with green spotty bits on him. Would someone be able to identify him for me please? I live in Port Stephens NSW Australia so I guess he may be native to this area?

We have moved into our new house, and I now have a beautiful new friend. This white lipped green tree frog, has made home in our backyard. You just got to love these frogs. Cairns, Far North Queensland Canon 400D / Canon Macro Lens 100mm BEST VIEWED LARGER
Single Brown Male – Mature, virile and ready to settle down. Have own patch of Goulburn river to raise family in. Looking for serious females for mutual fulfillment. Must be big, fat and can produce healthy eggs. Just come to the direction of my loud, melodious call! ““ (I’m not sure what type of frog this is. It’s about 2 cm SVL and calls day and night in the Goulburn river (behind the Breakaway Inn in Acheron, VIC)
A Green Tree Frog (also known as White’s or Dumpy Tree Frog, Litoria caerulea)
This is the beautiful but tiny Eastern Sedgefrog. This little beauty would be no longer than 30mm (3cm) and if you look carefully, has caught her lunch – a damselfly. If you look closely at the frogs mouth, you can see the sticky goo that frogs use with their prey. And talk about smart – notice that it’s made the wings sticky – at this stage, the body is been left alone. This is a very friendly visitor to our gardens here in Brisbane so if on a balmy night you’re outside and you hear a sharp high pitched creeek or criiik – ik followed by one or more staccato pips, you’ve most probably got an Eastern Sedgefrog visiting you. This was taken with a Canon 5DMKII and Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens with the MT-24ex flash which did fire but on 1/32 strength.
This was completed for the Scottish Drawing Competition 2009 at the Paisley Art Institute. It was accepted and hung at Paisley Museum during the exhibition. It is a pencil drawing on paper with some light pastel coulouring. It’s I think approx. 50×30 cm.
