Extreme Close-Ups

Window to the soul, for April Avatar

This challenge closed over 5 years ago.

The Challenge

I know we have done an eye challenge, but on this challenge I want them closer, so close that we can see inside the pupil, or the window of the soul. These can be any eye you want, animal, fish, human etc, as long as it’s close. Some eyes are very amazing with the muscle structure, amount of color, and different colors in an Iris surrounding the pupil. Lets see what you got.

Judging / Voting Criteria

Voting should be done on clarity, extreme closeness of the shot, muscle structure that make all those little lines in the Iris. Basically the best looking eye photo in your opinion should be the one you pick.

Rewards & Prizes

The winner of this challenge will be our Avatar for the month of April, the other top 9 will have bragging rights. You will have two weeks to submit your images, two weeks to vote and it all starts on Monday the 1st, USA time.

Additional Information

On the downside, if an image is not of the eye only, I will remove it from the challenge. With that said, crop them, cut them, enlarge them, do whatever you have to do in order to give us only the eye. Remember, this is Extreme Close-Up. I also know that not everyone has a great macro camera, but it can be done. The photo in the example shot is one I took with a point and shoot a few years back, cropped down to give me what I wanted at the time. So give it a shot, and lets see how close you can get. Good luck to all, and we look forward to checking out all of the photos.
