‘Swallow’s Nest’ castle at sunset, Crimea, Ukraine. The Castle is built on the top of the rocky cliff high above the Black sea, so it gained its name. This romantic building is a symbol of the whole Crimea. It is beautiful all day round, but I like it at sunset, lighted by the soft and warm sunbeams.

The Holodomor (Ukrainian: Голодомор; translation: death by starvation) refers to the famine of 1932–1933 in the Ukrainian SSR during which millions of people starved to death as a result of the economic and trade policies instituted by the government of Joseph Stalin. There were no natural causes for starvation and in fact, Ukraine – unlike other Soviet Republics – enjoyed a bumper wheat crop in 1932. The Holodomor is considered one of the greatest calamities to affect the Ukrainian nation in modern history. Millions of inhabitants of Ukraine died of starvation in an unprecedented peacetime catastrophe. Estimates on the total number of casualties within Soviet Ukraine range mostly from 2.6 million to 10 million. The Flag of Ukraine (Ukrainian: державний прапор України; translit.: derzhavnyy prapor Ukrayiny; literally ‘state flag of Ukraine’) is the national flag of Ukraine. The national flag was officially adopted for the first time in 1918 by a short-lived Ukrainian People’s Republic. The color blue of the Ukrainian Flag represents the color of the sky, and yellow symbolizes the lush golden wheat fields of country. Our country is know by its culture, thirst for freedom and beauty. Enjoy. :) Other my works associated with Ukraine: / (images will open on clicking) / Tech info: / Canon 400d / Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 Aperture priority / Ss 1/1000 / F 2.8 / Ev 0.67 / ISO 100 / Focus 50 mm This photo I took from hands without any difficult preparations. I set focus to 50mm and diaphragm to 2.8 to get great DOF. And shutter speed to 1/1000 to catch tight moment.
