Inside the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre is a photographer’s dreamworld of lines, planes, angles and colours. This, in particular, seemed to lend itself to a escher-esque use of words as well. Winner, BANNER FOR FEATURED WORK in the Escher and Perspective Art Group, 6 November 2009.
This is an image uploaded for a challenge in the Escher and Perspective Art group

“Flags are a common denominator throughout the world. They permiate through human culture in every corner of civilisation and produce immense emotion in those viewing them; pride, passion, hatred. This poignancy is not presented by many things as simple as a piece of cloth. / They stand for many things, good or bad, country, organisation or team, pride or fear, and exude a spirit of their own when revealing the great power of wind that people do not otherwise see. This ever-changing movement presents an unusual photographic challenge, whether the flag be an evocative symbol or a simple decorative device.”-Dan Broome MUSIC LINK Let My Love Open The Door – Pete Townsend When people keep repeating / That you’ll never fall in love / When everybody keeps retreating / But you can’t seem to get enough / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / To your heart / When everything feels all over / When everybody seems unkind / I’ll give you a four-leaf clover / Take all the worry out of your mind / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / To your heart I have the only key to your heart / I can stop you falling apart / Try today, you’ll find this way / Come on and give me a chance to say / Let my love open the door / It’s all I’m living for / Release yourself from misery / Only one thing’s gonna set you free / That’s my love / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / To your heart / When tragedy befalls you / Don’t let them bring you down / Love can cure your problem / You’re so lucky I’m around / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / Let my love open the door / To your heart
“Men Women and Fish” was featured in Escher and Perspective Art An equal figure ground pattern of men women and fish in black and white Men Women and Fish is an equal figure ground pattern delineated by the use of black and white. It began as a single line drawing then with the application of black and white the lines were no longer needed. / One shape cannot exist without the other. / Why black and white? / Because they symbolize all color absorbed and reflected. It seemed like a good place to start / Why men women and fish as forms? / It was inspired by a challenge given to me to produce an equal figure ground relationship. / With a poem in mind that I had written earlier that month / I had all that I needed. IN THE END TIMES / People move like schools of fish / through currents of thought / to be caught by the net of the kingdom / or washed ashore / by an emotional storm With the task at hand the lines began to take form. Somehow the basic elements came quickly but it was in a very crude form. I actually let out a little laugh when the elements came together. / After much refining the pattern was cast and Men Women and Fish was born. MUSIC LINK / New Years Day – U2 Yeah… / All is quiet on New Year’s Day / A world in white gets underway / I want to be with you / Be with you night and day / Nothing changes on New Year’s Day / On New Year’s Day I will be with you again / I will be with you again Under a blood red sky / A crowd has gathered in black and white / Arms entwined, the chosen few / The newspapers says, says / Say it’s true it’s true… / And we can break through / Though torn in two / We can be one I…I will begin again / I…I will begin again Oh… / Maybe the time is right / Oh…maybe tonight… I will be with you again / I will be with you again And so we’re told this is the golden age / And gold is the reason for the wars we wage / Though I want to be with you / Be with you night and day / Nothing changes / On New Year’s Day

We had been traipsing around the galaxy in hunt of the legendary city known as Temple City. It is said the civilization there depended greatly on their priests to run the city and their government. From our past history, we know how that can end. As we walked througout the many levels of the city, there was cinder scattered all over. Having dual suns made the lighting a bit eerie at times. There was no wildlife in the air nor the ocean. We found no life in the city. The temples were gorgeous, but there was a feeling of sadness all throughout the area. We left with the feeling of great loss. And no, we did no treasure hunting. :o) Created in Incendia with postwork done in Photoshop for Hue and some clean up with smudging and painting that never seemed to go away from the 6 day render. Some of the forms just seem to work out that way. Thank goodness for Photoshop. :o)
This is an odd picture that I came up with a while ago and just recently got around to rendering, its actually all the same shape just arranged differently so all the larger objects are compiled of the smaller ones. Once again, I’ve decided to go with the high contrast B&W, don’t worry I still believe in using color, I’ve just been enjoying B&W for the last couple of months.

With traveling so much, it is fun to stop and spend some time at the beach. No matter what world or universe it is, it is still fun. ;o) Created in Apophysis. Postwork in Photoshop. The work in photoshop was an experiment to see if I could turn a fractal into a watercolor work that could be a nearly believable landscape scene… in the fantasy world of Bunny of course. ;o) I created a layer over the original, then used several smudge and natural media David Nagel brushes to paint the skies and soften the foreground some. I then added another layer for the adjustment layers.

All art here does not all have to be Escheristic, it can also be perspective dimensional too. You will need to include in your description of its perspective or Escher-ist quality. All mediums are OK, they just need to have a definite perspective dimensional element. Also, please feel free to add any journal and written works. It would be a bonus if we could get the forums up and running as well.
Some fractal art will be considered…please explain the perspective element in the piece. Also, please avoid flower photos as there are many groups for them. Any pre-existing will remain as we do have highest respect for their artists.
Thank you so much for stopping by Escher and Perspectives!
