Empowered Beauty Workshops

Hi Everyone,

Thought I might start a forum entry for each workshop as we run through. Starting with my thoughts from workshop 5 which was last Saturday August 16. Model was Tahlia and we went through 2 scenarios. The first a car scene with the 69 Mustang and the second a series of art nude in the studio.

On reflection the main thing that I felt needed more attention was in the direction of the model. I find that this is probably the main area for consideration in the majority of the workshops. I believe that most subjects are unaware of their poses, expressions and mind sets for various stages through shoots.

I believe it is really important to be assertive and self secure when directing models. Whilst Tahlia was in the moment and free for many of the shots she did fall into stages where she looked disconnected and disinterested in my opinion. I believe this can be both seen and felt. Whilst many of us feel hesitant about making others aware of such things I beleive that it is helpfull to both parties to communicate if we notice the other person drifting from their optimal output.

On a positive level I have been very impressed with the use of exposure and some photoshop affects. Love the mood and impact that has been created in the works submitted thus far.
