" Desperation "
by CanyonWind

You have to ask yourself, why, what is it about photography that makes you want to do it……What is the connection that draws you………

Most of us, as photographers click that camera for a reason, there’s something out in the world that draws us, that we certainly connect with, something powerful within us linking us to the world of our choice……..
In the below photo’s I have chosen to share with you (Photography has been used to preserve time:)

  • The picture little John-John age 3 when he did the saluted as his father’s casket rolled by during the funeral procession.
    ****************************************
  • The picture of the U.S. Marines of the 28th Regiment of the Fifth Division raise the American flag atop Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima, on Feb. 23, 1945
    *****************************************
  • The picture of the Jewish prisoners at the moment of their liberation from an internment camp “death train” near the Elbe in 1945.
    ********************************************
The iconic photo of Tank Man , the unknown rebel who stood in front of a column of Chinese tanks in an act of defiance following the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.
    ********************************************

But still besides preserving time and Events, there’s an intangible connection, ….The above images no matter how Powerful, would be worthless if not for how our emotions connect with them…….

How an Image makes you feel, is where the power comes to play, when our emotions are involved, when we react to what we see………..
