Hi all,
The group’s off to a great start, and I want to thank you all for your contributions!
We’ve been a bit slack with the “1 per day” rule, but will start enforcing that one soon – remember it’s better to send images to the group 1 at a time for regular exposure than flood the group and have all your work move to the back!
So – to reiterate – all the group rules are here. Any questions please feel free to ask!
- Only 1 photo uploaded per day.
- Photo must be taken from inside a car – no exceptions. Open windows are allowed, but it does take some of the fun out of it. :)
- Stay safe! This is an actual rule. We suggest that you don’t actually look through the viewfinder to compose your shot while driving….
- Tell us a bit about how you captured your image in the description. Were you the passenger or driver? If the car was not moving, why was it stopped? This description is particularly important if there is no proof (ie car frame in the shot) that the photo was taken from inside a car.
- We will reject images if you parked your car with the specific intention of taking photos – that’s not what we’re looking for here.
- Respect other members of the group.

Hi Sara, I have many shots taken from our moving car (we don’t stop coz the kids will start screaming! LOL) but many of them don’t actually show ant part of the car, as my camera & I are half hanging out the window! A lot of them do show a bit of blur (caused by our motion!) I just wanted to know if they were acceptable to add to the group? By the way I love the idea of this group! I love taking photos while driving! Thanks for your time!

They don’t have to show the car – blur is just fine :) In fact, sometimes blur makes photos interesting – it shows the movement of the car! Just make sure you put some sort of mention in your description that indicates it’s taken from a car please!
Interesting that your kids don’t scream while you’re hanging out the window though…. :P

Hi Sara!!!! I have lots of drive by photos from my car and was wondering if photos that I take while sitting on the back of a motorcycle would be acceptable. If not do you know of a group you could direct me to? Below is an example….

Photos from the back of a motorcyle – YES. It’s still a “drive by”. So cars, trucks, motorcycles, snow plows, taxis…. any vehicle on the road broadly speaking. Except perhaps go carts and bicycles :)
