More difficult than take a good shot in the middle of the rain of a dark night with a compact camera and without tripod… is taking a photo of my boyfriend! / So I can be proud of my insistence!!!!! :D / Yest we were in a field between mountains in order to test his new 50mm f1.8 Canon lens (I love it), he was lying in the grass and I could place myself above him and shoot several times before he could repent! ;P / He has a beautiful smile, hasn’t he? ;P and the typical strong features of basque people like deep eyes… I can say ‘hello’ to you from them!!!! lol Canon 400D Feature work in Pathway to the Soul group (October 09) /

I was inspired to do this shot when working on another photo in Photoshop tonight. I kept getting the warning that Windows had encountered a problem and had to close down. Well, after trying to get a restore point happening three times and failing, I re-installed Photoshop. Then opened the pic I had now worked on and lost twice only to get the same bloody warning. Well, all is sorted now. Seems it was a fault in the photo I was working on coz this one got a heap of stuff done to it and YIPPIE, NO MORE WARNINGS.

When you lose someone close you realise then that time is precious, time can’t be paused, rewound when we feel like it, it is now, right this moment, time waits for no one. Having lost both parents within 2 years of each other I often regret time, not the fact I had it, but the fact it was wasted. Regardless of how a person is or who that person is, time is here momentarily, do you know what time it is for you and your loved ones? Maybe this image will help you reflect, perhaps it will help you understand, is there a message here for you? Experimental work using CS3, / tapes – created using brushes, / words – mine discovered through wisdom / child – my little Tammy / feather – created using brushes / background of abandoned building – another use of brushes / Fob watch – from own stock / time to create – 45 mins / time – 2am / time to reflect – life Please consider joining StarKatz Photography on Facebook Olympus E-300 / 19mm / F/8 / 1/40 sec. / ISO-160 Featured: / Also featured in Experimental Group also featured in: / About Time / The Art of Intrigue 2/24
Another go of doing the Dragan Effect. / This time I used less dodge/burn around the face and eyes. Used painting with light at the end but lowered the opacity a lot more and painted the whole of the face and head area so as to leave a slight vignette.
My entry into the Canon Photo 5 Practically Black section. /
I know that this image has already been used before in Dragan Masters group (courtesy of StockVault) however this face really caught my eye especially considering the current global financial crisis. Anyway – here’s my promised attempt at a Dragan – hope it’s not as feeble as the Stock Exchange!!
