Part one of a new still life series I am starting called “Nine Guitars” – which is a study of photos of guitars I am currently shooting. This is actually the second guitar in the series of the nine, but I have chosen to show this one first. Each one will have different characteristics. Hope everyone enjoys! This one is my fiance’s Seagull guitar by Godin. DAC Description: I shot a single photo of an acoustic guitar under natural window light conditions. I transferred the image to PS CS3 and created a new layer with a black background. I isolated the guitar and then duplicated it six times, enlarging the first one and then keeping the other five uniform in their smaller size. I then arranged them the way I liked best, and added a very slight Fractalius filter effect. I then flattened and here we are..;-)

I know a love / Few ever find / A spiritual love / A love that is mine. She is truly an angel / God’s gift to me / A sensitive soul / I will cherish always. I have yet to look into her eyes / though when I do, / I haven’t a doubt in this world / These feelings are true. Such a warm tender heart. / The most beautiful of women. / She shares the same dreams / and desires as I. Still . . . So out of reach, Yet, / So very close. / Forever in my heart and mind- - / Sharing one soul for eternity. Model – Seraphim_angel by Tigg stock @ deviantart.com / Background – www.sxc.hu

New American Landscape Gargoyles ugly, dark, and looming; / Overlook the erstwhile blooming landscape, / desolate now, but fresh in memory. Giants in the garden Eden. Gothic, no, Americana, barely eaten; / Taken by surprise and sorely beaten shed / no tear, for fear of giants. Giants in the garden Eden. Whilst whole countries stand by watching; / Giants o’er their landscape trodding, claiming / grain and livestock pools from nature. Giants shade the garden Eden. A single voice wails mad with fury; / Counts backwards, bent, and bleary-eyed; / And yells, “You don’t own nature”! Giants left the garden Eden. / - F.A. “Heh, Sis’... don’t go there. It’s a trap!” he yells again,_ ”.Sis’, please don’t go there! Look-out! Behind you…” / Adam falls silent as he realises, “Oh my god, she can’t hear me!” / And he stands helpless, as she drifts farther away, happily playing with her ball, oblivious of those watching for another inner-sentient to be lost in space.
Digital collage inspired by the wolf packs that howl at night near my home. I see lone wolves sometimes late at night running across the field behind my house. Coyotes come up closer, right to the back door, searching for food. I live in an area rich in beautiful wildlife which inspires my art and writing and uplifts my spirits each day. :) This work has been FEATURED in the Wolves in Art group AND in the Digital Art Compilations group!

When I was a young girl, I sang this song in a choir and it has always been meaningful to me. I think we all have storms to weather at times in our lives. The song is a show tune from Rogers and Hemerstein’s 1945 musical, “Carousel” When you walk through the storm / Hold your head up high / And don’t be afraid of the dark / At the end of the storm / There’s a golden sky / And the sweet silver song of the lark Walk on, through the wind / Walk on, through the rain / Though your dreams be tossed and blown / Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart / And you’ll never walk alone / You’ll never walk alone The image was created from two different layered images of the lady with the red umbrella and one additional layer of water on a window. I added the plastic wrap filter to the water on the window layer and adjusted it to my liking. I added texture and brushed in clouds. Additional minor adjustments as needed. All photos used taken with Canon D40.

The first song I ever danced to at the first dance I ever went to: Blue On Blue Strangely enough, this turned out to be the anthem of my love life: lots of blue. / Created for the Electric Blue Challenge. I have other predominantly blue pieces that could have been OK for the Challenge, but this song’s been winding its way through my week like the pesky little earworm it is, so I thought I’d try to make an image that’s blue….on blue. / (There’s detail in the larger version that’s hard to see without doing that extra click.) / / Lyrics: / Blue on blue, heartache on heartache / Blue on blue now that we are through / Blue on blue, heartache on heartache / And I find I can’t get over losing you. / I walk along the street we used to walk / Two by two, lovers pass / And as they’re passing by, I could die / ‘Cause you’re not here with me / Now the trees are bare / There’s sadness in the air / And I’m as blue as I can be. / Blue on blue, heartache on heartache / Blue on blue now that we are through / Blue on blue, heartache on heartache / And I find I can’t get over losing you. / Night after lonely night, we meet in dreams / As I run to your side / You wait with open arms, open arms / That now are closed to me / Through a veil of tears / Your vision disappears / And I’m as blue as I can be. / Blue on blue, heartache on heartache / Blue on blue now that we are through / Blue on blue, heartache on heartache / And I find I can’t get over losing you. Created from a digital painting, a fractal image, and a photoimage.
Probably one of the most gorgeous flowers on Earth. Description for DAC: I opened a new document in PS3 and filled it with two copies of a grainy, pinkish texture. I then opened a photo of a Clematis flower I shot the other day and isolated it out of its background, copied it 18 times, and then arranged each one with different levels of opacity and rotated at different angles. The top layer of Clematis blooms, the darker ones, are just at the 100% level of opacity. I also added an extra layer under the largest Clematis bloom and applied the Flaming Pear filter Aetherize to it then merged the two. I flattened the image and voila…a nice textured arrangement of the lovely Clematis blooms ;-)
