A smooth plant with yellow daisy-like flower heads in flat-topped clustrers. Flowers: Head 3/4” (2cm) wide; rays 8-12. Leaves: Basal leaves 1/2-6” (1.5- 15cm) long, heart-shapped, long-stalked, with rounded teeth; upper leaves 1 31/2 (2.5- 9cm) long, pinnately lobed. Height: 1-2’ (30-60cm) Flowering: April- July Habitat: Wet meadows, swamps, and moist woods. Range: Manitobia east to Newfoundland, south to Florida, west to Texas, and north to Missouri and Minnesota. A pretty group of yellow coneflowers growing in the tall prairie grasses of southern Alberta. This particular species of coneflower (Ratibida pinnata) is also called Prairie Coneflower, or Drooping Coneflower. It is mostly distinguishable by it’s large ‘cone’ and drooping yellow petals. Captured near Lethbridge, in the prairies of southern Alberta, Canada. / Taken with a Canon Rebel XSi using an 18-55mm lens. .

Kind of a fun one…. I had this idea of the petals falling into the water, than I thought of put my friend in there. He says… “She loves me, she loves me not, she loves me!” Pretty cute, hey….:-) / / Used Photoshop to blend the two images and cut the petals off and rearrange them. This reminds me of September because of the song “Will I see you in September”. He’s hoping she still loves him. Hope you like! Add me to your watch list now
