This challenge is for imagery and text which portrays and/or describes Cosmic Anomalies: Strangeness in Space! Subject matter might include black holes, quasars, worm-holes, dark matter, dark energy, gamma ray bursts, anomalous galaxies, strange stars … any phenomena currently thought to exist by science.
This is NOT a challenge for alien worlds, alien life-forms, alien space-ships, robots, androids, etc. ~ just PHENOMENA, the natural kind, which may or may not be out there! Art and text may also focus on the current questions of cosmology ~ the Big Ones ~ like the Nature of the Universe, Infinity, Parallel Dimensions, the Ending and Beginning of the Universe, etc.
Let’s see your best portrayal of the riddles scientists are really asking in this day and age! Your artwork can be serious or whimsical, “accurate” or purely fanciful (your approach is up to you) but MUST refer to something theorists believe exists in space.
Remember to include some reference to your concept, either in the text or title of your work: abstracts and/or fractals without a scientific reference will not qualify.
Vote for your favorites (you can vote for more than one!) Look for artistic merit, creativity, imagination and no less importantly, scientific possibilities!
Winner will receive a banner and will also become a Featured Artist with a permanent Feature Page. Banners and honorable mentions for the Top 10, as well!
In the event of a tie, both winners will be recognized.
Both art and clothing welcome!
Please be sure your entry’s in the group! If not, it will be removed when voting opens and you forfeit your chance to win.
Work which doesn’t fit the focus of the challenge will also be removed at the discretion of the hosts. Check our Home Page for guidelines of the group.
This challenge will be open for a 2 week period and voting will be open for a week.
