I saw this in the front of an Amish home near Lincoln University PA. Normally there’s a bucket and hose for the buggy drivers to stop and water the horses, but today the bucket and hose were gone. July 2009 These blue hydrangeas are a beautiful sight to see….with the shimmering sun cascading on them through the shade trees surrounding them. Most other hydrangeas only bloom early for a few weeks, then their done ~ this hydrangea blooms from early summer to first frost… thus the name “Endless Summer”. Sunny smiles to all who are viewing this capture! :) “Endless Summer” Join me in my endless summer / Where every day is just / The same as the last Join me in my endless summer / Where we take things for granted / Before they’re past And in my endless summer / Freedom is for everyone but / We’re locked inside ourselves / And in my endless summer / We collect our summer memories / To be thrown up on old shelves But I’ll share my endless summer / For when it rains / It’s all we have / But I’ll share my endless summer / So when we look back / We both can laugh Join me in my endless summer / Where every day is just / The same as the last / Join me in my endless summer / Where we take things for granted / Before they’re past And in my endless summer / No need to worry about / Whatever tomorrow brings / And in my endless summer / No need to care about what / Any other lost soul thinks Because in my endless summer / No one really matters / Because we’re all the same / Because in my endless summer / It always shines / There’s never rain So join me in my endless summer / Where every day is just / The same as the last / Join me in my endless summer / Where we take things for granted / Before they’re past ~Author Unknown Kodak Easy Share M1033

Summertime and the flowers are blooming so happily. You can almost hear them sing. Bird song is also wonderful.
Not too big, but lots of daisies :) / as is /

Because of this challenge I finally got up the courage to ask my neighbor if he’d mind my taking a picture of it all. He is such a nice man, and was happy to allow me to take the photo, as well as give me the ultimate tour of his backyard where 2 more flowing water gardens waited for me. Back Yard Dreaming here: /
Apparently the heron did not read the “NO FISHING” sign this morning.
Taken at the home of a friend in Penobscot, Maine.

MISSION RANCH / Carmel-by the Sea, California If you ever saw the movie, “A Summer Place” with Sandra Dee and Troy Donohue about 1959, this cottage was in the movie. It is more lovely these days with Mr. Eastwood making sure that everything here is kept ship shape. The rose bush climbing over the front door and window would be such a gorgeous sight in a few weeks when those hundreds of buds burst into bloom. The front door is just a short walk to the ocean.
What says “cottage” more than tulips and lace? I loved seeing this and it has become an all time favorite for me. I hope you are feeling the same. I took this photo at Tuliptown, one of the tulip farms that takes part in the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.
