(please listen to the music (below) it enhances the viewing experience) Desert sunset fades away. / Comes the darkness all around. / Tomorrow brings another day. / Where will I be found? Granite fragments pierce within / As thoughts inside congeal. / Further knowledge seeps within. / Closed eyes that will not seal. Soon the light is gone away, / Endless skies surround. / Darkness is not my enemy; / In darkness I am found. Inner most shapes of thoughts / Rush forward to be released. / Even hurts thought long forgotten / Show they have not yet ceased. We had been shooting since 6.30am after racing into the city to capture the fog. We started at the Royal Botanic Gardens and slowly made our way around to Bennelong Point. The morning was crisp, bright, quiet, still, and the light was sensational. At the Opera House the cleaning crews were at silent, diligent work. One of several working on the steps, this young lady was not in a hurry and indeed was quite intent on her task. I had plenty of time to compose the shot and she was not even aware of my presence. Angel Appearing To Mary My Original Painting of Gabriel the angel appearing to Mary with my photography of the sky above. as the backdrop … . Gabriel appears in many places in scripture and is the announcing angel. Gabriel is the one commissioned to announce major historical events. The most well known of these is Gabriel’s role in revealing to Mary of Nazareth that she will become pregnant and bear the son of God. This is depicted in art over and over and even has a feast day named for the event, “The Annunciation.”

These are working fishing vessels near where I live . .they have so much character and inherent beauty to me.. Your comments very welcomed and respected . done with my Kodak Z1285 I Heard these words echoing below from / A Salty Dog by Procol Harum One of the most beautiful mystical songs I have ever heard (brooker / reid) please look below to see A Salty Dog video http://www.jango.com/music/Procol+Harum?l=0 Here are the lyrics… all hands on deck, we’ve run afloat!’ I heard the captain cry / ‘explore the ship, replace the cook: let no one leave alive!’ / Across the straits, around the horn: how far can sailors fly? / A twisted path, our tortured course, and no one left alive We sailed for parts unknown to man, where ships come home to die / No lofty peak, nor fortress bold, could match our captain’s eye / Upon the seventh seasick day we made our port of call / A sand so white, and sea so blue, no mortal place at all We fired the gun, and burnt the mast, and rowed from ship to shore / The captain cried, we sailors wept: our tears were tears of joy / Now many moons and many junes have passed since we made land / A salty dog, this seaman’s log: your witness my own hand

It doesn’t really look like an island from this angle, but that grove of trees on the rocky mound is the end of Spirit Island as seen from the water of Lake Maligne, in Jasper National Park, Alberta,Canada. It’s not a view that we’d seen anywhere in other photos, which was what we were trying to do: capture some views that were different. / It looked like the surrounding ranges of the Rocky Mountains were holding the island in a protective embrace, protecting it from the stormy weather up there on the high altitudes. The division between Big Beach and Little Beach was caused by a lava flow and earthquake in approximately 1790. The hill dividing the beaches is called Pu’u Ola’i or Earthquake Hill. Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi / Currently with 2738 Views, _Mahalo :))) “At the northernmost corner of the Polynesian triangle, the Hawaiian Islands stand as a sentry for a collection of atolls, volcanic remnants, coral blocks and large islands that punctuate the region stretching to Aotearoa (New Zealand) in the south and Rapa Nui (Easter Island) in the east. Hawai’i is the newest landmass in Polynesia and the most isolated settled area on the globe, rife with unique ecosystems. Maui, sitting in the middle of the main Hawaiian island chain, is young geologically. Haleakala, still volcanically active in the 18th century and now considered dormant, rises 10,023 feet. The older and more eroded West Maui Mountains are 1.3 million years old. The tallest point at Pu’u Kukui – 5,788 feet – is one of the rainiest spots on earth. Ka’anapali is on the leeward side of these mountains of West Maui on the slopes facing the islands of Lana’i, visible on the horizon in this image and the beautiful island of Moloka’i.” Information Source Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi / Shooting Date 30 September 2009 / This is a composite of two images taken on the same location at the same time stitched one over the other / Currently with 2826 Views

Abstract Acrylic on Stretched Canvas
As I was watching these canoeists,I was thinking..they’re floating on one of the world’s most beautiful lakes, fed by glaciers high in the Rocky Mountains.Behind them march thousands upon tens of thousands of trees, climbing up the slopes of towering peaks which once were the bed of a shallow sea, and were thrust upward with power we can’t begin to imagine, to form peaks thousands of feet above the level of the present oceans. And this is hundreds of miles from the closest ocean. And above it all,the ever-changing sky,now blue and serene, but in another moment, dark and storm-tossed. I felt how tiny we all are compared to what surrounds us every day. It is so seldom we stop to think how much we have to be thankful for and appreciate the beauty that we have been given. / Taken at Lake Maligne, Jasper National Park, Alberta,Canada. / Sept. 4, 2009. / Sony DSCF828 camera.

Put your thinking caps on …. what have I shot here? It might look like the world’s biggest bar code, but it ain’t! Let’s have some theories from all you sleuths out there …. If you don’t want to read the answer, don’t look any further. Solved after 24 hours by Sazfab who said it was a slippery slide. She’s on a roll now, having solved two of my “Saturday pictorial puzzles” in four weeks! Yes, it’s the bottom of a giant slide called the Euroslide, and the shot was taken at the Moomba fairground in Melbourne’s Alexandra Gardens in 2007. The real clue was the colours reflected in the image – and you can see one of my other Red Bubble shots of the slide at Slippery Slide This shot was actually taken the day after Moomba had closed and a team of workmen were dismantling everything in the Alexandra Gardens. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F11, 1/500 sec, ISO 200, focal length 125mm.
