RAINBOWE BRIDGE POEM Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…. ~ Author unknown “Crossing over the Rainbow Bridge” 4” x 6” acrylic on canvas. Another illustration made for a children’s magazine to go with a short story (chance it might get published but so far I haven’t been lucky so I’m not counting on it =P ). / It’s about a princess who sees an old man in a mirror, and he turns out to be a wizard. He then takes her to the Land of 1000 Words, where everything is made out of words. A bit of an experiment again with this one. The background is made out of pieces of newspaper, on which I painted the image with ink. And then I cut out the letters and glued them to the image, and touched it all up a bit with coloured pencils. =)

one of a series of animal kingdom t-shirts
This is a drawing I made for a school assignment. We were given a very short story, in which there is a small kingdom with a king in his castle and twelve couples in twelve houses. But since the king likes everything to be clean, everyone is constantly cleaning and thus they have no time for children. / Then one day, a white stork shows up with a baby, and everyone wants to take care of the boy. The king then decides that the baby will become the new prince. He’ll spend one hour in every house (at 7 am he’ll stay in house number 7, 8 am in house number 8, all the way to 6 pm in house number 6). And the night he’ll stay in the castle. =) It’s a short story that will appear in a children’s magazine. If I’m lucky, my drawing might get published (I will find out next month). / Done with oil pastel crayons on normal paper.

Every month a different theme -> November Kings
This is a group for illustrators who are up for a challenge. But it is also a place where young and older experienced illustrators come together. Every month there will be a new theme where all of the members can make an illustration about.
Then everyone can submit artwork in that theme and you will see how everybody thinks and works around the same theme. Young will learn from old and old will learn new things from young.
It is very important that everyone keeps an eye on the forums because this will be the place were the theme for the next month will be chosen.
