EDIT: Any explanation in bold was added after the challenge was launched to try and clear up ambiguous wording
In Australia, we’ve just had our first Masterchef series, with the finale being watched by about 3.7 million people (that’s 16% of the Australian population!). The last recipe prepared by the final two contestants involved … CHOCOLATE!
To celebrate, let’s have A BAKE OFF! Afterall, a good photo/grapher makes a good dish look even better!
So, your key ingredient for this week’s COOKING challenge is: CHOCOLATE. You have one week to submit your entries of BAKED CHOCOLATE GOODS and one week to vote for the winner.
Remember members, it’s YOUR VOTE that will DECIDE YOUR FAVOURITE CHOCOLATE CREATION. Good luck to the contestants!

Are you salivating? Do the talents of the photographer showcase their subject?
Winner: GROUP AVATAR!
Places 2-5: GROUP FEATURES!
EDIT – TO EXPLAIN FURTHER
In terms of the ‘allowed’ entries, I have tried to be broad in applying the ‘chocolate’ + ‘cooked/baked’ theme. So, not every entry will have a baked chocolate good as the central subject, e.g. it may show cooking utensils covered in chocolate obviously in the process of being used to create something chocolate-flavour based, or chocolate-flavour garnishing ingredients (used to enhance a food’s appearance) or that at some point during the depicted product’s preparation its been cooked. So, not just ‘chocolate flavoured baked goods’.
Open to everyone, the Australian MasterChef example was just an intro piece, so don’t be scared!
Originally we only wanted this group to show chocolate not chocolate lollies, chocolate baked goods or whatever, but to get the group up and running we were pretty loose with the definition and it’s stuck now – SO LET’S CELEBRATE!
Hmmm … an idea is germinating in my pretty little head on how to leverage the work of this group to link to MasterChef and its equivalents. Maybe we can suggest our photographers to shoot the contestants? Any ideas?
Pralines and truffles are some of my favourite chocolates, so I am making them the subject of o…
